Making my own soil. Opinions wanted.

I'm looking to have a nice alive soil. Only feed for a week or 2 so i can then take over with my feedings. I have very limited options for buying dirt. I just want to go to my local Lowes and Gardenworks and leave with everything.

Thinking of doing 1/3 pro mix, 1/3 top soil, 1/3 per-lite.
My plan is to buy these 2 soils mixes, mix them with some extra per-lite and lime and plant. Opinions. Links to soils I'm thinking of getting below.

Buy Happy Frog (if your garden place has it). It has bennies in it out of the bag. Not as hot as Ocean, and can be used with seedlings.

Best out of the bag soil I've used.

I don't know much about. This but i think you mean "live" soils ? Idk.....and the 1/3 each sounds good to me :)

other organic geeks will tell you to add other stuff like worm casting etc ....... Good luck

Be sure to add some epsom salt in there. I am from Florida and have more quality soil in my planters than i know what to do with. You should see how thick the trunks are to the royal palms that i grow out of it or how juicy and sweet the pineapples are. All i do is dump.my glass clippings from my st Augustine grass into the planters to decompose and add a little epsom salt.

See all these random responses? That is why I say to start with Happy Frog. Get a few plants going while you confuse yourself trying to make your own soil.

burnt paper for ash ( pottasium) .. Ha ;)

Defiantly cannot get happy frog, would if I could.

I'm going to be feeding with the complete earth juice originals line. Brewing tea with there 3-5 bottles.

You can't get Happy Frog, but you can get EWC, fish meal, bone meal, bat guano, and everything else you have people recommending?

I ask the simple question because it doesn't make sense adding it to the dirt when the dirt has enough nutrients to get a seedling going and my teas will be providing everything would it not? This is the stuff I'm not sure about.

This is my first grow, my soil im using now is crap and acidic. So i am making a soil for my first time.
I've read a lot about the earth juice line and brewing tea, and im hoping to be able to actually use it sometime.

Epsom salt is magnesium bro, essential for life. If you REALLY want some fertile soil put some fulvic acid and apple cider vinegar in there. I grew some monster venus fly traps that could eat wasps lol. I sprayed the soil daily with diluted fulvic acid and ACV. You dont need all this fancy stuff just give nature an abundance of everything it needs to grow and it will do so.

you can just add some lime to ph correct your crappy acidic soil.:)

random responses because this post is in the incorrect area, if it were in the organic section all the answers would be similar.
Go research the sticky's on the organic section, and you won't ask why castings are essential.
also you won't need so much perlite if you use promix, promix is full of perlite as it is.
Volcanic rock is better, pumice is better, biochar is better.

you aren't adding nutrients in a form of NPK with castings, you are adding microbial life, humus, and small micronutrients as well.
for organics there is much more to it than simply NPK, in fact you'll do much better once you realize that all of that stuff isn't very important on an organic grow.
