started because i needed somthing to take extrem close up
pic's of trichomes to look for amber ,and useing my lens in hand was not an easy task seeing i dont cut off the buds to scope them like others have.and i was not going to buy expencive camera lens to do so ....with four dollers in hand went to catskill art and office supply and got a slide veiwer , small typ you put slide in and hold up to light . took off slide holder cut some v marks for more light and left the rest so i could judge focuse point. On my digi cam lens fit over reg lens and i can tape it ..I have checked and alot of digi cams are the same thing..put it to highest zoom with out going digital zoom and taped lens to. cam get real close and snap away with no touching of the bud ..then d.l. pics to comp and then zoom those pics or just full size and see every thing... examples below :) hope this is help for someone !:weed:

You can use the lens from an old CD player to get a nice up-close view.

There's a thread here with details and pics. The clarity of the pic isn't the best, but you can definately see the individual trichs.

just use macro on any point and shoot. this is one I took last week

your picture is awesome, but even in my macro setting, i still cant get them that clear... i think i am about to try the cd player lense trick... be back in a sec to let you know if it worked with my digi...

I tried to take pic on full macro setting but they were to blurry thats why i went to just full zoom , but let me know how your works with c.d. lens . the pics from nocturn3 's post were not to good my pic were more clear with slide veiwer lens i think

it is a fancy camera Digital Single Lens Reflex
it is the kind with the interchangeable lenses, i picked up a used one for about 300 that came with an awesome external flash and a 28-300mm lens. Around this time of year people are dumping their old ones to get new ones in time for the holidays.

got ya ! i have little digi cam no lens change but I didnt even think of jewelers loop, will look for one of them thanx! do you know the magnification of a loop? just wondering

Don't know what a loupe's magnification is but you can also get geology hand lenses (10x up to 30x). Found mine in a prospecting store, don't know where else they sell them

whats with the twilight poster in the back? lol:wall::wall::wall:

hold up the finer focus part of a magnifying lens (which you should already have to solar puff!) to the lens of the camera, and you can mess around with the focus to get some nice close up pics.

most digital cameras have a macro setting, be sure you use that if applicable. macro lens' cost big bucks, and you shouldnt buy one unless you have a nice dslr =[ my friend has one, we use it for tons of stuff. I'd get one, but they run over 500 bucks, not inluding all the fun gadgets to go along with

Sorry to bring bring up an old post but the lense outa laser pointer works great.. I use a hair pin(bobby pin) to hold it against the camera lense. This was taken with a itouch which has no zoom.
