alright so within the next week i'll begin making my own bubleponic system(tryin to save some money). this is also a first time grow with a medium other than dirt.

this is what i'm thinking of using:
a 45 gallon rubber maid tub 42" by 20"
12 3" net pots
8 outlet air pump
8 12" airstones

I'm wanting to grow around 12 plants sog style all in one tub and i would just like some input on this if your familiar with bubbleponics. what could be some problems with this setup. also is it going to be a ridiculous amount of nutrients i'll need to use since the reservoir is this big?

Dude you are going in the right direction. I made a 20 site bubble unit out of one of those big "Sterilite" tubs. I have a 30-60 gallon air pump, 3-10" airstones , connectors and tubing to join the airstones, and 2" net pots(more than enough room for SOG). A hole cutter attached to a good drill makes it easier just make sure you measure it all out first to ensure uniformity, which is essential to SOG. You should have alot of fun with your unit. Good Luck!!!

thanks general. how much did you end up yeilding off that? did having that many plants cut down on production of the individual plant?

Hard to tell. I only harvested once with it. It's kind of one of those deals where I on&off use it. My buddy usually encourages me to use it. I have some plants in it now, but they are just beginning to flower. There is some crowding with the 20 sites. But if you train them right, the SOG you are planning might work.
