Make your own worm box for compost/casing

i read an article on lifehacker tonight about building your own worm box. (http://lifehacker.com/5882478/diy-worm-compost-bin there's a video and more details about the build there).

my main questions about this were if anyone has built something similar and for how much 'stuff' you put in, how much compost/casings do you end up with? also, if i wanted to make my own soil mix, would just worm casings and pearlite be a suitable soil, or will i need to add other amendments to the soil mix or nutrients during growing? there's also something in the article about the condensation filling the bottom tub and that the 'tea' is a really good fertilizer. again, for anyone that may have done this, how much of that do you actually get in a given amount of time/compost? and any ideas to what the n-p-k ratios would be?

i think i'm going to build one and at least get it going. it says you could even keep it in an apartment, but i think the worm city will live in the garage...

I would like to have a worm box as well. I have a good amount of kitchen scraps, coffee grinds, etc. that would make great castings. I will never get around to building one though, I'd have to buy one.

The castings are concentrated organic nutrients and should be used as a supplement to a soil/perlite mix. If you use to much I think it may inhibit root growth.

^ watch the video, he says all it takes is about $20 of supplies..2 rubbermaid containers and the worms may be the only things you would need to buy. maybe some window screen, but i'm sure there's something you could use to substitute if need be.
