Mainlined too early?

Hey guys. First time posting here. I'm growing Gorilla Zkittlez under a 1000w LED and a 1200w LED in soil with the full general organics line of nutes. First time mainlining as well and I'm positive I got too excited and did it too early (day 22) but they were up to 5 nodes, so I got busy. The nodes I had to tie down however were pretty darn tiny, so my wire is making node #2 on each plant that I topped look pretty uncomfortable. 4 of my 5 little girls took it like champs, but they haven't grown in days...I guess that's to be expected from what I've read. 1 girl however tore a little bit from the main stem and her leaves are all drooped right down. Does that mean that node is permanently dead? What I did was remove the tie down from on top of the node, and put it underneath the node to hold it back up tight against the stalk. Should that fix it in a few days, I hope? I wish I could take pictures, but unfortunately I have no camera. Sorry guys. I'm pretty sure I've got a handle on things, but you guys have a better handle, so I figured I'd ask. :) Thanks in advance for the advice.

No it's not too early. I start with topping, then let it grow out a bit. Then I find the branches that I want to keep for my main structure and tie them down and top them again, so each main branch will develop 2 colas. Then I clear it out a bit. This is what i did last night.

After lst and second topping session.

Their growth will spread now to the 14 tops that will now grow, so it won't get tall as fast. 14 tops is kinda a lot and so I might trim some off when I do the next round of lst. And don't worry about little splits, the plant will repair itself if it's not too bad.
The Green Crack on the left has a completely split bottom main stem that's about 1/2 inch deep that I damaged during the first topping.

Hope this helps. Next time you should do a search first cause I just posted the same thing last night. Too bad no pics.

Thanks alot sir. That was all I needed to hear. Clearly based on those photos you know exactly what you're talking about. :) Good work man. Hope mine turn out as well.

I tried mainling once and found it to be a waste of a plant.
Too many cuts which really slow the plant down a lot, so a 8 week plant becomes a 10 week plant, no problem
Have fun going through all that work because the plants do look pretty, but big bud ain't happening.
Here is a pic of one of my plants that wasn't fucked with.

Impressive as hell my man. And thanks for the input, unfortunately it's probably too late for me. I've already begun the process.

If you only tried it once, maybe you should try it again. It's one major way to improve yields. Yes you won't get one massive cola, but you will get a lot more slightly smaller colas. If you were growing outdoors I'd say go ahead and leave it be since the Sun is much more intense than any indoor grow. But for indoors you will yield more if you do some training to keep the canopy even. Yes it will slow it down a bit at first, but that should be expected. I have plenty of time to veg my plants while the others flower.
Peace man.

I pull down with string to maintain an even canopy.
How much weight do you get from a mainlined plant?
Maybe 3 oz dry on a good day?
I'll pull twice that per plant not topped or mainlined.
Here are a couple of pics of how I maintain my canopy.

Peace back, bro :)

Ya I didn't mainline last time. I just did fim, top, and lst to experiment. But I lst'd the plants individually all to their own pot creating something similar to mainlining. Here's a pic.

And you can get a lot more than 3 oz out of a mainlined plant. It's all about how big you let them get in veg. I got more than that out of most of my plants last time that were all crowded together. I'm only flowering 2 plants right now cause I was trying to keep it simple for a bit. I got plenty from last harvest, and plan on doing another bigger one in fall when it's getting cool again.
One more thing. Those things look kinda airy, what's up with that?

I think you'll be happy with the results. Here's my Green Crack that went through this process a few weeks ago.

I will have lots of decent tops and less popcorn. It's time for it to get a little defoliation, but I do it a little at a time throughout the grow.
Good luck.
