Main lining - how long can I wait to start

i have a plant in veg. Maybe been in veg for 1-2 months. Getting a tad big. I want to main line it and cut the stalk down to the 3 node. Can this be done or did I wait too long and such stress will stunt the plant? Most people I see start main lining when the plant is very small. She’s a bit bigger than this. This photo is a week old.

if u mainline you just wasted the last 6 weeks .
Setup a net n scrog it.

My issue is that’s my veg tent. And I have seedlings and clones on their way in to that tent. Already have 4 in flower in a different tent. If I scrog it it’ll stay in there and I won’t have room for the new plants and strains coming. Space is limited for me sadly.

You can do whatever u want.
Next time I would start training early, so your not growing plant just to cut n toss it .

I know. It was such a stupid move on my part. Wasted time for sure. I did a scrog single plant first grow. Got 5 ounces. Then my 4 in flower veg too long and now my cycle from clone to veg to flower is off. So I’m trying to keep the veg small so they don’t outgrow my flower tent. Learning as I go. Made some mistakes in getting the cycle down that’s for sure. My flower is 12 weeks about. And if I veg that long they stretch way out.

I shall. I’ll take some pics. Thanks for the input. Didn’t know if cutting the main stalk so far down would cause issues. Next time I main line earlier. Just want that even canopy in the flower tent. I screwed up my current flowering and my first harvest wasn’t bad.

You are suppose to start when it gets to the 7th node then take it down to the 3rd.

My avatar was a monster mainline I did a few yrs ago...

Well here is my update on main lining. Pretty sure I fucked up my plant. I’m waiting for my new tops to start forming on each branch so then I have 4 tops total. How long that gonna take? I just gave it veg nutrients last night
