Main cola injured, need advice

Im growing 4 reserva privada sour kush girls under a 1000 watt gavita. One of the 4 had grown close to five feet in its 3rd week of flower, which is almost a foot taller than the other three. The main cola was starting to get heat stress from being so close to the light. In an attempt to tie the main cola down, i snapped about 6 inches of the Cola off. What affect is this going to have on the plant? Will it stunt the growth or will the plant continue to develop without any adverse effects? Should i be worried about it possibly herming out on me? These plants are growing great I'll be so pissed if i screwed this one up.

Any input/experiences greatly appreciated

If you didn't snap it all the way it will heal itself. I did this once same way you did. It will get fat around the snap and heal up. If its all the way off you will probably see stunt growth for about a week it shouldn't kill it or anything though so dont worry.:joint:

You should be fine. Seems like you are early enough in flower so she should recover just fine. She may suprise you and grow two new colas to replace the snapped one. Good luck!

If its hanging there, dab organic honey and splint with tooth pick and bread tie, you can wrap with gauze, watch for roots and clip away. If snapped all the way off, make fresh cut with sharp device at 45, dab with honey and hope for the best.

Those 2 lower buds are probably going to take right off. It may not be as big as original cola but, with over a month left in flower you may be alright.

Just did this today except with a cardboard box on accident. Broke a fan leaf stem and the top cola stem is bent over sideways, but did not crack like the leaf stem. She might stunt for a couple days, but I doubt anything worse than that will happen.

That has happened to me, ironically on a Reserva Privada plant too. I had to cut off the damage because the top of the cola got bleached (I wasn't home in the first two weeks of flowering and it skyrocketed). The energy seemed to be redirected to bud sites around the cola and I still got an above average yield without a cola at all.

The third week of flowering is when most plants quit growing vertically. If you break off the top 6 inches it
is for the better. With a 1000W bulb, like mine, you let the trall one get too close to the light. If you had left it alone
it would have likely burnt to a crisp anyway. At this point your suddenly shorter plant will grow more sideways than up.
Remember - if you want your plant shorter; trim the top. If you want it taller; cut off the side buds.

BigSteve.
