Magical Mystery Bagseed Grow 200watt+ CFL, In a File Cabinet

Ok, I built a file cabinet grow cab, and I'm going to be using cfl's throughout the grow. I took the Hempy Bucket idea and tweaked it a bit so I could use what materials I had available. My Hempy Bucket is using aquarium pebbles and hydroton in 2L-ish bottles. I put peat plugs in one just to see if it would make a difference. The biggest part of my grow is experimental until I work out the kinks in my idea, so here we go..

Day 1.
My seeds are all germed and in 2" rockwool cubes, and 2 of them have already shed the husk of the seeds and broken through to the surface.

My temps and humidity are averaging out pretty well.

I'll be updating daily with tons of pics as usual. If you have any questions about my grow feel free to ask!

Subed up. Very interested to see how you go. I got my temp steady at 25C (77f deg) and about 50% humidity

DAY 2

Everything is still going well. 4 of the plants have already opened up, 1 of them is kinda lagging behind, but no worries, it's still early in the game.

The tap roots on all 5 have already poked through the bottom of the rockwool, so I'm probably going to be transplanting them into the bigger containers sometime in the next few days.

Yeah, I have a cover that I put on the inside of the door that blocks all the light. I just don't have it on right now since I'm running my lights 24 hours.

Day 3
Alrighty, everything is still going good.

I thought I would reposition one of my lights so I'll get the most out of it.

Day 4

Just some pics.

IMG_20120826_043946.jpgIMG_20120826_043957.jpgIMG_20120826_044004.jpgIMG_20120826_044011.jpgIMG_20120826_044017.jpgIMG_20120826_044028.jpgIMG_20120826_044046.jpgIMG_20120826_044057.jpgIMG_20120826_054317.jpg

Not much news this time around. Still going strong with 18/6, the plants seem to be doing pretty good. Most of them have multiple roots coming from the bottom of the rockwool already so I may have to transplant them sooner than I thought.

Pics from day 5 - 8

IMG_20120828_085224.jpgIMG_20120828_085301.jpgIMG_20120830_054433.jpgIMG_20120830_054442.jpgIMG_20120830_054500.jpgIMG_20120830_054509.jpgIMG_20120830_054516.jpgIMG_20120830_054648.jpg

A couple of them got a little too dry :( I missed a watering or two apparently. Using this odd choice for a medium, I'm having to really just guess on when to water. Around 3 times a day seems to do the trick.

I finally got them transplanted into the ghetto pots, and I've managed to get my temps down into the mid/low 70's to 80's

Day10

Still recovering from the nute burn/lack of water, but all is well. The leaves are all perking back up, and returning to a healthier color.

Day 18 or 19

So it seems I've undertaken a challenge lol. Drought is turning out to be a problem, these pebbles can dry out pretty quick, so it's a bit of a problem until the roots take to the bottom. However I still have healthy plants. Oh, and one of them died :(

I did a little trimming to

It's been a while since I've posted anything about my grow. I had a few close calls with my modified hempy bucket. ( It doesn't like to hold moister very well) Aside from that it works pretty well, Just be prepared to water often. And throw a few peat plugs in the mix if you can, the one plant I did that with is doing far better than the others. Well, here are a few pics.

IMG_20120923_224720.jpgIMG_20120923_224728.jpgIMG_20120923_224748.jpgIMG_20120923_224759.jpgIMG_20120923_224807.jpgIMG_20120923_224814.jpgIMG_20120923_224820.jpg

These are from around day 20 - 25ish

I've been keeping them all trimmed up to focus on the top bud sites, and I've topped most of the bud sites too. I ended up staying on a 24 hours on light cycle since my timer crapped out on me, but as soon as I replace it I'm going to start flowering.
