Mag or ??? - Unhappy plant

Had a fungus gnat infestation a couple weeks ago - pretty sure I know which pot was the source...

The poor girl looks terrible - she's much smaller than her sisters and looks bad.

My noob eye sees:

Mag deficiency - brought on by fungus gnat grubs munching my roots.

Is this correct?

and - all suggestions welcome.

No... that plant looks seriously fucked in multiple ways.
Care to elaborate on causes - or how to treat "seriously fucked"? :bigjoint:

I come to RIU to learn more about my plants and growing in general.
So I posted this plant problem in the --- wait for it --- plant problem section, instead of my journal.
I did this in hopes that experienced growers would share some --- wait for it --- experience.
I realize I'm a noob, but even I could see that this plant is not healthy. :eyesmoke:

----------------

Her leaves were only a little better before the gnats showed up - so my guess is that their larvae did some serious damage to the roots before maturing into adults.

The mag guess is the result of this chart:

DOH!!!
Maybe ask questions - THEN bowl.
I tried bowl, then question.... :eyesmoke:

She's one of nine plants - all healthy except her, so the issue seems isolated to this one plant.

Lights -Appx. 600w (true) LEDs - chinese burples

Soil - 5gal - FFOF / 25% Perlite.
Top dressed Dr Earth All Purpose 2-2-2 two and a half weeks ago
Top Dressed FFOF / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4

Watered when the pots are light or the plants are droopy.
Tap water
Tap water with epsom salt (1tsp. / gal). -- every other watering.
ph unknown - I haven't checked it (yes, I should) --- the other eight plants are thriving, so I kind of doubt water.
Watering to runoff

Temps - 81f lights on, 65 lights off.
RH - 56 - 41%

I'd cut out the Dr. Earth and Epsom salt for awhile and give plain water. That pot also looks super dry. So I'd basically just water it good and wait. I think you're overdoing it. And Epsom salt can do more harm than good sometimes.

Also, I liked your old troll avatar better, lol.

This is one of her sisters for comparison.
Same age, tent, feeding & watering schedule.

Bamboo LST guides don't seem to bother her at all.20201124_111843.jpg

no idea what ph is then its a crap shoot, the brown edges seem like a phosphorous overdose , I agree with plain water sometimes those organic feeds need time to break down and aren't available immediately its possible all that organic material is now breaking down at once. when I feed organic food like dr earth herb and veggie I only top dress 1 time per month

Plain water seems like the best course for now - you and @PadawanWarrior are making sense.

I still have to wonder why the other 8 are doing so well.
I try to stay KISS - but when I got the gnats I clearly released the mad scientist in me. --- But hey! The gnats are gone and I used no toxins.

I still think this pot may have been the source of my gnats and the roots are jacked --- and all my attempts to fix have just overloaded an already weakened uptake system.

Troll Avi - I'm slowly building a collection! :bigjoint:

It looks like you're growing organically. I would buy some EWC too. EWC usually have Hypoaspis miles which take care of fungus gnats, and is full of beneficial microbes and stuff.

I've never been the holiday theme type, but.....
Wow, I knew Build a Soil was having a Black Friday sale, but I just saw this. Damn, I'm gonna have to order a bag. I ran out of the EWC from them and have just been using the vermicompost, but the EWC are like 1/2 price right now. I'm gonna order the 1/2 cu ft bag for $18.

You can get cheaper ones too from the hydro store that work too. I started with the Wiggle Worm brand and that had lots of Hypoaspis miles in it.

If you go through this link you'll get $5 off too.

LOL!

It's good to live in a legal state - I just walked the dog and knocked on a neighbor's door.
I have EWC now! :bigjoint:
