Mag Drive vs Eco Plus Pumps??

Whats the difference between the mag drive pumps and eco plus pumps??

The eco plus pumps say they use a magnetic rotor. Am I wrong guessing that mag drive stands for magnetic drive? Wouldn't this be the same thing?

Why are the "mag drive" pumps so much more than the eco plus or sun leaves pumps? I notice they have a higher pumping height, but other than that they just seem to be more expensive for the same thing.

Do they push at higher psi or something allowing you run more sprayers? What am I missing here?

Thanks,
Bob

I own both. The Danner mag drive pumps are the way to go. You get what you pay for.

The ECO isnt junk but the Danner is simply a better product.

Thanks for the reply.

What exactly do you mean by a better product? Will the eco plus pumps do a decent job for an aero cloner?

I am trying to figure out why they are better. What is it that makes them a better product? Is it like Nike and a WalMart brand shoe where both products work fine but one may last a little longer or looks "cooler"?

Please explain why they are "better".

Thanks again,
Bob

The eco will be fine for your cloner... it's a decent product.

What I mean is that they(danners) are put together better and last longer.

Think of it like this; the ECO is like smoking a middie with seeds that'll still get ya stoned. But the Danner is like smoking seedless nugs that have been harvested at the right time and then cured.

Cool, that works for me. As long as this thing works for like 6 months I'm happy with it. I didn't have the money to spend on the danner pumps this time around, but I will probably end up getting one.

Thanks again,
Bob

I use ecoplus 396 in my 2 aero cloners, and they work great. I also use a 185gph for my waterchiller, and a 633 for my mother system. All of which are well over a year old.

I use only ecoplus for all my needs and am very happy with their products as I've never had one break.

I also like how my local hydro shop sells the internal parts for pretty cheap if one ever does die I can simply rebuild.

The ecoplus also has screw in connectors which can be nice for changing sizes or directly connecting pvc for your sprayer heads.

My eco plus pump seems to be working fine. I have the 633gph model running 20 misters in a 96 site cloner. For the air pump I have an air pump for a 30-60 gallon aquarium with two 4ft bubble wands.

I put in some test clones last night and they looked great this morning. Since they looked so good, I took apart my bubble cloner and put all the clones into the aero cloner. I used to get roots in like 2 weeks with the bubbler, but I'm hoping for better results with the aero cloner.
