Lumen count

yes, I know what a lumen is. I was just asking because it would be easier to look up if you had how many watts. I know a 100Watt CFL will put out around 1000+ lumens or so.

Is that a VHO grow-type, cuz i have one of those and its rated for 5000+ lumens, im asking about the smaller spiral-shaped ones, so the wattage may be 100watts, could be less.

I haven't found a CFL that will put out more than 1050 lumens, I too have been looking. I did find however a 300Watt incandescent that would do 6000 lumens.

Avoid incandescents at ALL costs, dont even let them enter your mind, they are SHIT for growing, no exceptions, end of discussion on incandescents.:p

My two grow lights for my aerogarden (check my gallery for pics) Put out 1450 lumens each and use 26 Watts each...

Theyre not exactly the CFLs that you mentioned but Maybe you could find somthing similar...

yeah, i use compact fluorescent FLUOREX lights - 65w 4400 lumens (they claim 5000 but I measured it myself and got 4400.)
These are good lights for 39.00 (flood lights but you can mod the ballast, see my bagseed post), they stay cool and put out 6500k.
bought them through Lights of America - Lighting the future

900 lumens for 65w isn't really that great considering the the "100W" CFL's will put out 1080 lumens only using 23w, these bulbs go for about $2-$4 unless you goto menards they sell a 4-6 pack for $9.50.

yeah, you're right, i was back at the wal today, and i saw a 100w (maybe it was 125w) that put out over 2000 lumens. and it was only $9. i'm gonna go exchange it tomorrow.

go to wal-mart and just by a few phillips lights the ones with the curly light inside a halogen lamp the yhave lights from 1200 lumens to sometime 4500 lumens, I know this isnt an answer to your question but I figured it was eay as hell for me to find the right ones, wh wouldnt it be for you. These lights work perfectly I have been using them for awhile now and they grow great.
