Lumatek 600 on Super Lumens VS. 1000 watt Magnetic Light Output

We all know digital ballast produce more light anyway and lumatek says their ballast increases lumens by 15 to 20% just on the regular 600 watt setting compared to a 600 watt magnetic ballast. If that s true then a lumatek 600 Watt ballast turned up to super lumens should be some what comparable to a 1000 Watt magnetic ballast running normally. What do you guys think. Not saying the 600 is as good but maybe close.

From my limited knowledge digital ballasts dont increase lumens by that much.. They are more efficient power wise meaning a 1000w digital will pull 1040 actual watts whereas a magnetic ballast pulls say 1100... This effeciency isn't translated in to lumens.

Also dont you need a special bulb to use super lumens?

Correct me if I'm wrong this is just what I know...

i have three lumatek 600s. had problems with hortilux on super lumens. you have to use digital compatable bulbs. having great luck with ushio opti red even on super lumens.

This sounds really cool. I bought a magnetic 1000 cause it was readily available but I am switching to lumatek. Do you run lumateks? This thread could be really sweet.

i will never run anything else. they are everything they claim to be. nice when they turn on . all you hear is aclick from the timer. you can keep them in the room no heat. the color sure fades from the light though. one of mine is allmost pink now. about six grows on it. been on for fifteen months steady. thats it in my avatar. also have hydro farm 600 magnetic. no comparison in lumens. its sounding like i work for lumatek. lol . no just impressed.

1,000 watts are better but its not worth it to invest in magnetic ballast unless your on a real tight budget - 1,000Watters all the way and digital only for the win - 600Watt digital if you have to save the money.

i would rather two sixes than one one thousand. 200 watts more but much better footprint. do you agree. the six digatal with right bulb puts out 96000.00 lumens without super lumens. x2 = 192000.00 . you can buy double sixes that run 2 lights.

I'm using a lumatek bulb Also so I'm sure its very compatable

So a 600 lumatek digital ballast will out do a 600 magnetic by 15 to 20% like the manufacture claims. I just got my lummy today and I'm very excited
