Lucas formula... deficiency...I have pics

I have 5 clones(trainwreck, Blue Rhino and a chemdawg) all in an ebb and flow system together with a 400 watt mh. The table floods and drains 5 times a day and I just recently started using the Lucas formula at a diluted ratio of 2/4 ml per gallon a couple days after transplanting and have kicked the ppms up a little bit more to about 400 ppm now. I am using Ro water and my ph has been within 5.5 to 6.0.

I have noticed my tips have been turning up or down and yellowing on some of the plants. Maybe a mg deficiency? After reading the original Lucas forum it says he starts all his clones at an 8/16 ratio which would come out to about 600-800 ppm @.05 or 1100-1200 @ .07. Am I having problems because I started off at such low ppms? Should I flush then kick my ppms up to whatever a 8/16 ratio per gallon would be and just measure it out???Any advice would be very helpful as I feel my bigger clones are yellowing alot more than my smaller ones so I figured they might just need a high concentrate of nutes than what they are receiving????

hardly any..my ppm is at 446 at .5 conversion If I had to work it out into an equation it would be at 4 ml micro / 8 ml bloom. I am thinking I dont have enough nutes and need to actually use the 8/16 equation I believe I should have started from the beginning.

dont add more your plants are telling you that you are feeding to much.
and lucas has 2 feeding formulas. I think for now you should use his lower
feeding mix.

Lucas Formula for seedlings/cuttings

For young plants (< 4 weeks old) or cuttings, which may not be able to handle a full strength feeding formula, may require that you dilute the nutrient solution before feeding. This is OK, just make sure you keep the correct ratio when mixing. For example, 50% strength would be 4ml Micro and 8ml Bloom

Thats what I have been feeding them...to get my 400 ppm at .5, Then when should I be increasing nutes? I was under the impression this is from possible under feeding

you dont get that from under feeding, under feeding looks alot different. its a light burn could be caused by a PH issue,
you shure your pen/meter is cal. right? you could do a flush to be safe. eitherway you need to feed less

ok, I guess I started to confuse myself....I started off my grow at a 2 ml to 4ml lucas formula and my plan was to slowly raise it up to proper levels 600-800 ppm 8/16 ml per gallon normal formula. After reading the orginal ask lucas forum http://www.cannabis-world.org/cw/archive/index.php/t-892.html I read a thread on it that said to start vegging at 8/16 under HIDS immediately the clones have rooted. When do I want to ramp my nutes up??? Should I have started with the 8/16 ml per gallon formula right from the start??

fair enough, then when do I need to raise my nutes? Its my 3rd week of nutes at 400 ppm .5. Should I be adding cal mag?
Why are you in such a hurry to 'raise your nutes'? More nutes does not equal more yield or a better product, it actually works the other way around.

no rush at all, Just confused because I read that I should have been using 8/16 from the start not a partial strength nute so I was thinking since the burn is only occurring on my bigger plants I figured it was a lack of nutes and I should have started off at 600 to 800 ppm @.5 using the 8/16 ml per gallon method...

8/16 is too strong for any of the 6 strains I have right now. I'd go with something more like 5/2 in veg with RO water and 5/14 in flower, you can call it 'the homebrew formula' ;).
