LST Question

I've never done LST before and this year I'm going to do it as opposed to topping my plants. Am I supposed to use a wide pot? I saw some at Home Depot and I was just wondering since I read that the roots from pot plants tend to go down and not spread out. I also plan on starting them in 5" peat pots. Is this a good idea?

personally i dont like to cut anything until harvest day.i use a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled around the top.check out my grow in the signature if you need more of an idea.

Nice grow you have there. Great pics of your plant. One more question: since I'm using regular seeds, do I start them in the larger pots and hope I get females or start LST with the smaller pots?

its all up to you. but i avoid transplanting altogether and just start it off in the pot its gonna stay in.ive been extremely lucky my past couple of grows with not getting males.like the grow i have now,i only planted one seed because i thought my light was gonna burn out.and my last grow i planted 4 seeds and all were female.u can start tying the plant down when its like 2-3 weeks old id say.some people say not to start tying if its already flowering.however i did not know this the first time i started and my plants still came out fine.but i dont reccomend it better to start when its still vegging
