Lowryder in a 2qt Pitcher

Twentythree

This is my lowryder that sprouted late november. Its now time to start getting it to flower. It should do it by itself. But just started it on a blooming mix. Eseentially my plants rigged up like this:
  1. Its in a pitcher from the dollar store.
  2. Fish tank air pump from walmart.
  3. Airstone from petco.
  4. Medicine bottle for grow pod.
  5. Sponge medium.
  6. 2 twentythree watt fullspec cfls from home depot
  7. 2 fourtytwo watt softwhite from same

Any advice? I don't check the ph balance, as i'll just change out the water in the pitcher from time to time. I could, if its recommended.

It will be severely limited by lack of rootspace, but other than that - why not?

You think that a single lowryder needs more room for root space?

I could get a gallon pitcher. I just like having the plants in their own containers. Isolates variables yada yada yada

Less than 2 gal per plant will necessarily limit plant size (some say 3). That's fine if your grow plan is for smaller plants, or if space dictates it.

Ok. Very good rule of thumb to follow, thanks for sharing that. I'm sure i can find some 2 gallon pitchers/rubbermaids. I like having it shaped taller than wider. Gives the bubbles a more direct path to follow. And the roots grow straighter down.

I want a damn tree. I hate that i can't just have one with lights on it in the middle of my house. Oh well, took some new pictures of her today. She is a girl. :D

Time to start making a guess at what she could be. I'm almost positive I wasn't lucky enough to get Purple ryder. But the purple shouldnt show this early, right?
I hope its not original. I just want it to be dope.

Not trying to bump, but anyone think this is lowryder 1, lowryder 2, or diesel ryder? Can somebody just guess for me? Ill call it anything. i'm going to try to experiment with getting it to produce a male banana so that i can produce feminized seeds. (got this in a mix pack) i have done a little research into the stuctural differences between lowryder 1 and 2, but i really dont have that much experience.

Sanibel green, thank you so very much for the support. I'll post new pictures tomorrow.

As far as advice, I might need a little help with flushing. Right now I'm not sure how much time is left for flowering. Up until yesterday I've been only giving it half the nutrient doses marked on my bottles. My final gallon of nutrient solution is a full dose of bloom. After that gallon is finished, I would like to change it's feed to purely distilled water. From what i have read, the flushing time should be 2 weeks. My plant is a lowryder(does it even have 2 more weeks?), keeping it going for another two weeks should produce the male banana that i have been seeking.

I'll do the best I can and keep it updated for anyone following.

My next grow I already started is Fast Bud from Sweet Seeds. It was just a feminized three pack. I'll be doing a little experiment with my Male Lowryder pollen in my freezer and the Female Pollen from this lowryder.

Fastbud x Lowryder Male = Hybrid Seeds
Fastbud x Lowryder Female = Female Hybrid Seeds
Fastbud ..... harvest another male banana for back crossing?!?! or just smoke it....

Ok new update!

I see something strange on the stem, looking like a pollen sack. Broke one off and squished it and lost it, but take a look at my stem for me and tell me if i could have stressed my shit to hermie.

I also need a good estimate on how long I have left. 2-3 weeks maybe?
Gotta flush.

Can somebody guess my yield? It is in a 2 quart pitcher very even and circular. If I can find measuring tape I will get that down for you all.

It's really hard to tell, but If i were to guess, I'd say somewhere between 14-20g's. I could be wrong? But that's my guess.. :bongsmilie:

Thank you very much. I don't think there is anything else i can do to change that. One thing I'm going to try to do is water cure half of it. I'll keep this up to date.
