evening all, ive just purchased the following from seedsman.com. anyone got any experience with these guys?

1 x Lowryder #2 Seeds £30.00
1 x Skunk Mix £9.99

im primarily interested the lowryder #2.. any tips or ideas, feedback from grows etc would be great. i chose the lowryder becuase im going to be struggling for room next grow, and i like the sounds of it. bought the skunk mix only because by spening over 35.00 you get a free pack of durban skunks.

anywhoo, enjoy boys!

i think, now that i actually think about it, that maybe those aren't the genes we want in the pool. they are linked to non productive marijuana. the breeders are breeding them up, but those genes are still in them. crossed with some good stuff it could really screw things up. then to get released into the general public. i could be wrong it just seems like a backward step when looked at it really stoned like i am right now.

this is just a rambling thought. but am i close shaman?

Well growers have been breedin bud for a long time to get it where it is. From hemp to present day Green Diamonds. And now some guy breeds hemp with good bud and we are suppose to start over. Lowryder is a Ruderalis plant meaning HEMP. Are you growing to smoke or make bracelets and wallets?

that's what i thought. it's the whole "hurry up and grow". stoners need to slow down. it's like fine wine.

Does any one really want to smoke hemp?
If so there is a hemp farm about 40-50k away I am willing to send any one hemp seed's and a dollar to destroy there lowryder seed's.

:fire: And a shinny TOONIE for the life of a living plant.:fire:

i know the ruderalis connection, just thought id give them a go because, as i said, ill have no space for my next grow. sometimes the grow can be just as rewarding as the smoke..
those durban poisons are gonna get grown outside on an allotment i think, so there wont really be any comparison in taste and high. i just wanted a small project to play around with in my room..

its a hard bug to shake x

i hope so too! but i am now dubious.

i guess ill get the seeds next week, ive heard you can stick lowryder seedlings straight into 12/12. i know you dont like them but any input on this? if its true itd work perfectly cus their 9 week veg/flower cycle would fit in with the flowering of my other plants... no need for a seperate veg room..

cheers

Don't listen to them morp, Lowryder is a great little plant. It's especially useful if you have a gap in your growroom for 8-9 weeks.

I'm gonna try it outdoor this year too, it's suppossed to finish whatever the daylight hours.

As for you people worrying about it crossing with some "proper" plants, that's impossible. Lowryder is an F1 hybrid, it produces no seeds (it can't) and it cannot be cloned.

Sure, in an ideal world, we'd all have massive grow rooms full of a selection of our favourite buds but that's just not the way it is. Alot of growers have very limited space and breeds like Lowryder have their place. I'm all for the micro stealth grow!

EDIT: Yes they go straight into 12/12 or 18/6 or even 24/0! They do not have ANY veg cycle, only bloom and they will finish 'whatever the weather'. Happy growing :)

one of my current flowering plants looks a little boyish to me, and my other is still not showing sex after a week.

ive got 3 lr2s germed and potted, waiting for a sprout, and 2 others waiting to germ. think i might try and germ all 10, hopefully get about 4 females. ill stick them under flouros for the first week or so, then stick them under my 400w hps on 18/6. the plant thats in there now, i will stash in a cupboard for 12 hours durin the night when its not too hot...

if i get any male lr2s, im gonna collect the pollen, save it, and cross it with skunk #1 and durban skunk. then these 'skunk ryders' will get grown outside. hopefully get bigger, stronger yields, but still with a relatively fast life cycle... any thoughts or feedbacks?

ruderalis is a virus in the breading world, they are a novelty plant at best but still have a place in the cannibus world, you would'nt suggest we eradicate hemp too would you?

grow more weed, who the hell told you that you cant breed f1's with other strains?!?!?!, all an f1 is is a first generation hybrid, this means hopefully more early vigour and a less chance for varying phenotype expression, these can be crossed just like any other strain, and true lowryder cant be cloned, it can most certainly be crossed.

Shaman, correct me if im wrong but from what i have read all our "potent strains" are crosses of landrace strains. you cant cross two hemp plants and get a stronger plant, the potency exists in nature, wild weed in afganastan thailand and the such are very very potent, after all they say ak47 was made from a choice of the best of 10,000 wild affgani plants. as long as there are still landrace strains growing wild like thai i don't think we can degrade the gene pool with siberian ruderalis, however if it really does infect the entire pool, indoor growing would be ten times harder. all the sudden skunk #1 would have autoflower tendancys, this could cause havok in a large operation.

rudy can have some good points, and disearves a place in the breading world, however care must be taken to keep pollen from reaching good strains unbeknown, or it will lower the quality.

For the record...anybody thats growing all of these lowryders...you
are kinda wasting your time..in most US states, you will be charged as
if those plants are as big as anything else, so if your gonna face the
same penaltys, you may as well go with big plants, and not a bunch of
midgets.....in many states, its simply the number of plants you are
charged with..not the size...you'd have to grow at least 30 plants to
get any yield worth a a damn..this lowryder stuff just makes me
laugh...why in the hell would anyone actually pay money to buy an
autoflowering strain thats nearly impossible to clone, and has pitful
yields???
Dont get me wrong...I dont think Lowryder is useless...I'd think this
would be a be a great strain for outdoor guerrila grows, or for a
simple winter grow with low lighting (CFL's), but as far as the other
factors are concerned, theres more suitable stuff for micro-closets,
and you can then keep clones around instead of having to order more,
or waste half of your crop to just make more seeds??

I'm just trying to get folks to maximize their grows..if your gonna
spend the time/energy/resources to grow, than why not do it right??

I'd hate to see somebody get 5 years for growing 10 of these
dwarves!!...thats why I think they are better suited for outdoor
grows..IMO Lowryder is for teenagers who are tryring to grow some
stash at home without their parents knowing about it, or from growers
paranoid of growing cannabis, and all they think about is how fast can
they grow a plant and smoke it..??...
thats why I have hardly ever seen any adults grow this stuff..its
almost always younger folks trying to pull one over on the man....
I can name at least 10 strains of the top of my head that will be as
productive as this plant with more potency, small stature, early
finishing and a lot easier abilty to clone..the fact that LR is very
hard/impossible to clone makes it a very lucrative strain for the
seedbanks, and frankly, I dont think this strains worth the
price...its just another novelty strain IMO..
I'd rather spend my cash on something thats gonna be worth the
time/energy..waiting for 6 weeks to grow like a 1/4-1/2 of an OZ seems
to be more trouble than its worth??
just add up the cost of seeds, electricity, fans, dirt, etc, etc, and than
add up your harvested weight..in most instances, its easier to just
buy finished products that having to grow it your self if all your
gonna get is like 5 grams per plant??
Peace

woah there!
i chose lowryder because, as im sure i said, ill have very little room on my next indoor grow. i was also interested to see what all the fuss is about.

i should be able to grow lowryder continually from now until january under cfls, with no changes needed in the light cycle, and (by pollination) no need to buy anymore seeds. this is a £30 pound investment in my eyes, as i will inevitably end up buying at least 10 times this amount in bagged weed before my outdoor harvest of durban, skunk #1, and various skunk hybrids.

the only reason im gonna be growin them under hps now is because i have 2 months left in this house (enough for a lowryder grow) and that way ill get extra smoke on top of what ill get from my current plants, and enough seeds (hopefully) to last for a few cycles of production.

makes nothing but sense to me im afraid
