Lowryder #2 in PC case

Hi all,
I've been diligently reading the forums for a few days and have decided I want to grow lowryder #2 stealthily in a PC case. I'm not particularly interested in buying pre-made kits or anything online. I'm also trying to keep the cost at bay. That said, here are my considerations and questions:

1) With well oxygenated, fed, and lit plants, how many cubic feet (or liters) and what dimensions will the plant have? (just for lowryder)

1a) I don't know too much about the cultivation stage, but can an overgrowing plant be trimmed without sacrificing much bud?

2) Because I will be obviously limited in space, what would be the best method to ensure I don't waste the space on males?

3 - Systems) Here are the following setups I have considered:
3a) DWC with the reservoir at the bottom of the case being aerated by a pump somewhere within the case
- The DWC system will collect waste at the bottom, is there any way to have the sediment filter out or should I just go with a refill system (drain, h20 pump, etc)?

3b) Ebb and Flow
- Doesn't really seem feasible to have the plants above a reservoir, so, without a pumping system, it seems to be out of the question

3c) Maybe it already exists, but would a closed system with an aerated/nutrientated water in a reservoir pumped over roots work? Sort of a dynamic DWC system...
-If it is feasible, what considerations should be made specific to this system?

4 - Light)
Keep in mind this is for a few lowryder #2 plants

4a) Type?
4b) Wattage/Lumens?
4c) Cycle?
4b) Local source? (HD is up the street btw)

5 - Nutrients)

5a) Type?
5b) Change over growth cycle?
5c) Local Source?

6) What materials should NOT come in contact with the water?

7 - Monitoring)

7a) Temp
7b) PPM (necessary?)
7c) pH (price for digital meter?)

Lastly, these are the relevant assumptions/determinations I've gathered from my research thus far:
* Case temperature should be ~75F/22C
* Lumens matter, wattage doesn't
* pH = 5.8
* 18/6 or 24/7 cycle
* More aeration = more growth
* Air rock things need to be cycled every week
* PPM must be <800

I'm sure there's more, but that should be enough for now.

I'm thinking now of doing automatic ak47 in a small cabinent

itll be like a half ounce every 6 months. whats the point

in micro pc grows I heard of ppl using 75watt HPS or a Higher wattage CFL for lighting. I have even seen dwc done. I heard in order to use the stronger lights in a micro grow you have to use a LAN case computer or Server casing...not comp literate so not sure but its bigger than your household comp case tower.

Full Tower Case.. is the nerdy term for it. just picked one up. 22in tall 18 wide and 8 deep i think.

i'll start a journal if my seeds ever germ.

Low rider #2 sounds perfect for your set up. Should never get over 12"-15" tall and will produce one big bud at about 9 weeks. They can also be set on a 18-6 light cycle and never have to change it. If you change it it will slow down the growth. You can not clone these due to the auto flowering but you CAN keep a male around under cfl and sprinkle on some pollen every now and then. For a set up you should prob just get nothing bigger than a two gallon reservoir and throw an air stone in there. Use correct nutes and prob nothing more than 250w HPS/MH lighting....and you will still need to vent that heat even at low watts. It will produce alot of heat and will kill plants fast. Might even want to throw a water bottle filled with yeast and sugar water in there. Won&#8217;t produce much Co2, but with the small space it can build up fast, if you don&#8217;t vent while the light is off.

Here is a pic of a lowryder plant. as you can see the bud grows straight up the center of the plant with no secondary stems or buds. Looks kinda like a christmas tree dipped in marijuana!

When i say "one big bud" it will break up into nuggets but on the plant it looks as if its one big bud.

How long from germ to autoflower?

There is no veg state with this plant....it goes straight to flowering.
Thats the reason there are no clones....you can not stop it from flowering.

It is usually a 9 week turn around from seed to weed. Not including drying.

Hey all. My setup has been changed. I got an aerogarden and rigged up 4 26W 2700K CFL bulbs under the hood with duct tape, zip ties, and rulers. I am using an autoflowering cross between lowryder, AK, and kush. I plan to plant seven seeds, get four females, and then plant in the other three seedpods at about 4 weeks in, so those plants will remain small until I harvest the first set (BTW can I clone at 4weeks into flowering?). Smell is going to be handled by plug in oder eliminators and a healthy dose of airwick in the room. The whole setup will be under an inverted cardboard box lined with mylar to conserve all of the light. Using fox farm nutes and digital PH control.

Seeds should arrive in a week or so, can't wait to get started.

Edit - the plants can be cloned by cutting of a branch and splitting the end carefully. My question is can this be done in flowering?

What do you all think I should get for yeild, I'm hoping for ~1oz/plant.

edit2: Will be using a hybrid of SOG and ScrOG to maximize yield.

From my understanding, you can not start a clone from a flowering plant....once it starts to flower it will continue untill the end. seems like trying to pull it back to a veg state after even a few days of flowering would be too much stress.

Your smell can be helped with some carbon filters. Even setting fish tank filters in under the box will absorb some of the smell...if you get real creative you can build your own vent system and attach the carbon filters to the end of the vent, will filter that way also....think McGyver!

And for the box over the plants...make sure to let them breath.

Also, seems a waste of good seeds not to add a HPS light for the flowering stage.

Just my thoughts.

I'm using an ozone generator to take care of smell. I'm reconfiguring the stealth setup so LE could enter my residence and it would remain undetectable. (I'm not anticipating this, but I figure I ought to.)

I'm going to use the plastic baggy method to generate a few seeds for later grows. Is there anyway to 'feminize' the seeds?

I still do believe that the plant could be cloned before it begins flowering, in its pseudo-vegetative stage. I don't believe sex can be determined before flowering, so its essentially a moot point.

There will be air passing over the plants to make them stronger and I'm going to try and train them to grow as horizontally as possible.

I'll be using flat white to make the grow box reflective. Right now HPS is beyond my means, but I will consider it after I have some more funds from work.

Are the 4 CFLs going to be sufficient for 3-5 lowryders in SOG/ScrOG?

i have never grown lowryder but im pretty sure you cant clone it cause it never grows brances with nodes, it just grows up with leafs and flowers off the stem, in order to get a sucsesfull growing clone you need nodes.

Will isolating a branch and pollinating it make it so seeds only grow on that branch?

you would have to wait until that fermale branch got pistils so she can grab the pollen....

There is a way to "feminize seeds." I believe Dutch Passion came up with it. you pollenate a female with a hermaphrodite. since there is no male dna i believe it produces female seeds. As for plants excluding lowryder, you can take clones up to 14 days into flowering without any problems, of course sooner the better. You should look into a scrog. i am scrogging 8 DP strawberry coughs and 4 DP blueberry girls right now and i'm loving it. Your going to need about 75 watts per plant in that box to be worthwhile.

word, sounds interesting. im stoned. but by what u said of growing fems under stressful condintions will create a hermaphrodite. a female plant with male sex flowers, but no male dna. im just saying how dutch passion did it. i dunno where u came up wiht your threory. but i'll stick to the originators.
