Lowryder #2 Grow Journal

In my experience, cutting/shortening the light schedule, will not accelerate flowering. It will just reduce your yield.

If you can't wait any longer then chop one, I leave mine go for 10 weeks tho, and they still give a "speedy" "up" high. I can't sleep if I've been smoking in the evening.

LR2 is more of a daytime smoke for me.

word, thanks for the advice. I've placed them back on an 18/6 light schedule. I probably shouldn't have moved them off it anyway, but I read on Doc Chronic's site about it shortening the "already short lifespan" if you reduced the lighting. He might have been guessing on that.

If the Doc says it will shorten the the lifespan then it's most likely true, and I'm wrong.

no worries mate. Trichs are getting cloudy. About to take a pinch and vaporize it to see how it feels. I love the ability to be able to do that. This shit is great. One day, when we can freely grow this stuff and exchance ideas etc. we will all be able to trade strains, it will be dirt cheap, and hopefully looked at with the same respect as wine. We need to stop using the names though....purple durple is never going to get the same respect as a name like "pinot noir". I wish we could figure out a different way to name all these strains.

I guess my goal with this first grow was just to do it. I haven't really thought too much about yield. Just trying to have healthy plants in a very, very small container. 1'x1.' growing space. It's definitely stealth. I have friends over all they time hanging in the room with the cab and nobody notices. You can smell it every once and awhile. It will just hit your nose. I had a friend over and I caught his face (total stoner ex home/hobby grower) as it suddenly perked up like he had smelled something unexpected and I knew he got a whiff of it. He didn't say anything though, but I know he knows that smell all too well...

Did you get any seeds from your pollination attempt, or you still waiting on em?

1 foot by 1 foot for 3 plants, thats awesome! How much do you think could yield frm 2 lowrider 2 in a 75" tall 2' by 2' box, covered in mylar and sealed, with 2 2700k cfls and 2 pc fans?

So I vap'd that little bud. It was weird. i didn't feel anything and then like 8-15 minutes later I felt high. Nothing special though. I think they need more time or that bud was really too damn small to get my smokes-every-day-ass high...

alright day 52. The cold nights are really causing the plant to purple. MJ is a beautiful plant. Seriously, I'm loving the colors.
The pH is back under control. Just checked it's at 6.8. I did a flush last watering and I will water again tomorrow morning. The trichs are getting frosty, still a fair amount that are clear though. The test smoke I did was nothing special. I still don't think the THC production is at the peak yet, I feel sometime next week I'll pull them down.
I've found 3 seeds thus far. The pollen I used was about 4 weeks old? Probably was only like 15% viable...we'll see. Enjoy.

raw as fuck

Almost harvest time. I can't figure out when to pull...I planned for Jan 23rd. I feel like they are almost ready. I want to error on the side of early. I just can't tell if these trichs are clear or frosty? What do you think?

I've grown in soil several times and I've never tried CFL I was wondering what lighting cycle are you on? 12/12 the whole time? and what do you find works best as far as ventilation fan wise in such a small area. one square foot is really small for what youve grown. do you think that a slightly larger area could perhaps yield a bit more?

check my first page. there's an explanation of my setup. I'm running two computer fans in line in that ducting. I'm also running a computer fan into the case. It's winter, so my temps are running cooler, but that keeps the temps at the plants from 73-78F
I think I could have yielded more with bigger cups, better pH control and HPS lighting. I'm very happy with my results though. I just wish I had one more girl. Out of 10 lowryder seeds only 3 were female. Be aware of that.
My entire goal with this was to see what I could do with very, very limited space. I think you could SOG a plant in this container and really get it to yield. Use hydro or something. I feel like the plants were getting plenty of light at the top of the cola's, however, CFL penetration is pathetic so I think that effected the bottom of the plants.
All in all, I see this as a total success, they smell like dank, dank ass weed. I wish I could start another grow now, but the smell is an issue. My apt just smells like weed all the time, even with the vent. I need an airtight container to grow them in. I will have a smoke report soon. I'm going to dry for a few days then move them to paper bags, then to canning jars...check back!

Dry weight is 16.8 grams. Can't believe it!. Plus I got some seeds out of it. The weed is not all that compact and little looser which must be do to the strain and the light intensity? The heads of the main cola tips are buried in the pic but they are a fair bit more dense.
I'm curing now and rolled my first joint (pictured below). I just smoked about three hits and I'm high as fuck. NO body effects though, just my head is sort of soaring. Smoke was harsh due to the lack of curing time, but the smell was nice. Berry/skunky smell. Can't wait till its cured a little bit.
No energy drain as of yet. I would like a little more body buzz, but this is a great high. I wish I could pass it around to you guys
I'm now looking back at this whole thing and just realizing I'm crazy. Nobody knows about this aside from you guys. I constructed this whole stealth setup wired lights together, read this site all the time, became a little obsessed...for 16 grams.
But, I've been wanting to do that since I was 14. Glad I could share some of it with you guys and I hope you take a chance, and realize this can be done!!!
This grow log is finished if they want to move it to the "finished grow log sections" is there one? How does one find it if so?
