hey. i am thinking about getting some lr to try. had a few questions though. how do you handle the light cycle? 18/6 the whole way through? what happens if you put it to 12/12? also, what size pots do you usually use? i was thinking about using sog in small 6" pots. finally pruning/topping...do you do it or do you just let it go? if so when is the best time to top the plant?

any input is much appreciated

I just got done growing LR2 and I kept the light on 24/7. I also used 6in pots and they worked fine start to finish. The plant was only 9-12in tall when it was done so they were adequate size. I didn’t top the plant but I guess you could try. I personally will never grow them again simply because the male to female ratio sucks and the month you save isn’t worth the loss of yield. The typical 3 month plant I have grown in the past I can get about 1.5 oz off and the LR2 I got about 5 grams dry 17g wet off each plant. Good luck

yes run 18/6.. i do and they really enjoy the 6 hrs off.
Thats pretty poor yielding glock:(
I get in the region of 2.5 Oz from mine on a regular basis, averaging around 16-18" tall with a good sized main cola and lots of big side colas.

6" pots are fine or LR2s..
Topping is a waste o time with LR2s...it just slows growth and reduces yield

Whew. I'm day 22 on LR2 and this is the first bad report I've seen. 5 grams! How is that possible? What was the male/female ratio?

Only 4 girls out of 10 seeds. Granted I only had a 9inch plant is prob why I only got 5 grams a plant. I have pics of them in my gallery.

Why do you keep them in so little pots, I know it's an auto dwarf strain, but wouldn't the roots have a little more space to spread out in 5l pots?

24/0 have been the best yielder for me although i rarely do it as the extra cost of electric cuts into the extra bud. a mate of mine tried 12/12 and the result was rubbish. i topped them in the past and it hasnt worked out for the best, but im using 125watt cfls so with a higher powered light it may be worth it. i use 6litre pots. i could get away with a slightly smaller size because of my low powered lights but if your using like a 400 or 600w hps dont use smaller than a 6 litre, you will lose out a lot.
here's a few photos of some lr2, 6 plants under each 125w cfl, 6litre pot each

i like lookin at lr2 pics.... they make mine look so good (outside of frosty's)!!!!

stick to frosty's advise...... my smallest female ever was pregnant and after all seeds were removed i had 11 grams dry.... my smallest female that wasen't pregnant was 11 inches tall i got 24.5 grams dry

female ratios are almost always 50/50, why do you think a 5 pack of fems cost as much as a 10 pack of regs?

thats dry weight, why would anyone weigh them wet?
dont be fooled by those photos they had a bad start in life, they were experiments, ill spare you the details.
24.5 grams from an 11 incher? what light did it have over her? those ones in the photo had a 125watt cfl. id like to try a 400watt hps but i havnt got the head room for the heat

thats a lot of electricity, you should of got more that 24.5g per plant for that. you must have a fault somewhere. what size pot were they in (assuming soil grow)and how many plants did you have in there?

that is not a per plant wieght, it's off an 11 incher which is one of the smaller ones........... i don't think i'd use 600watts for one plant..... one dwarf plant that is.

i never suggested you did have 600w over just one plant. whatever gave you that idea? how come you wont answer my questions about the pot size and number of plants?

oh... sorry:joint: i just figured you thought that.... and i didn't answer the last part cuz........ uh... short term memory while typing is decreased.

i start with 10 and i use 1 gallon pots usualy. currently i have at least 8 females under 500 watts mixed in a bed that is 12 inches deep.
