Mr I Can Do That For Half
Been awhile since I been on posting. those who know me know I am an aero hrdo guy. I have been thinking of doing something different and need some input. I have a few bags of Fox Farm happy frog laying around and few bags of verm and perlite. I am looking for someone who has used the Happy Farm to give me so info on it and usage. I think i want to do like a 3 plant grow in some 55 gallon cans so i need to know how exactly best to use this stuff to mix up a good mixture. then with this what kind of feedings does it need and such.. Ok come educate this hydro guy in getting dirty. As far as nutes I am open to bottle nutes in my waterings. I am a Fox Farm nute fan.

I find that mixing one part perlite with 2 parts soil gives me very good drainage.. your favorite hydro nutes should work well with soil.I use MG plant food and MG bloom and feed mine one a week but that is strain dependent. some strains like heavy feeding while other wil burn easily and require less feeding. but drainage if very important when growing in soil

I use MG's Nature's Care organic line.

Thanks for the replies.. I have grown soil before just never really liked it due to the time and the smaller yeilds and the extra work compared to hydro. I have even done some Miracle grow soil grows on here to show it can be used very successfully. Im just looking to try this happy farm since I do have like 10 bags I got while back for free so ideally I am looking for those who have used it. Looking to see if I just mix it with my perl and verm is it good to go and then just run my usualy nute mixes and watch the run off ph or will it not need feeding right away or will it need to be fed right away. i have the clones rooted and ready to go just need to know if they will need food in this stuff. keep the info coming.

don't know why some people hate MG or think that you need fancy, expensive plant food from the hydro store. my girls love their products including MG fast start for transplanting to larger containers.
Whatever works for you, man. You're the technician, so don't let anyone else try to commandeer your grow.

Don't use vermiculite, just use perlite. And FoxFarm Ocean Forest feeds for, like, the first 3-4 weeks.

I'm going to run 3 cuts of original Night Night queen. One in each 55 gallon bucket under a 1000 watt hid and then surrounded by 3 330 watt led light setup. i want to try do 3 large plants in doors in this mix. I ll run the 3 part Fox farm nutes along with probably the Cha hing Beastie Bloomz and Open sesame... Ill run more then likelly a hardener at the end. Not worried about being organic. Ill toss some co2 on them and have them on rotating stand so each pot slowly turns 360 degrees the entire grow to help even lighing.. I have about 9 feet of height to work with so take the container and light space out means like 6 feet for the plant so probably veg to about 3-4 feet since they are heavy indica and Ill top and fim along with lollipop should finish around 5 footish tall and bushy with wire cage wraps.Just something i have been thinking of playing with while the other 4 tents keep turning and rotating.

Any particular reason your against the verm mix in?
Vermiculite is OK in a hempy application but it's like a sponge and really holds water... Not the best attribute for soil. Soil tends to already hold alot of moisture and benefits more from the aeration and drainage capabilities of perlite.

I used MG one time. It made my plant look like a cross between a papaya and a pineapple. Colors were all over the place. Only organic nutes fer me now mate :bigjoint:
