im on the hunt as well.
the most skunky weed ive ever smoked
was 25+ years ago! It was lime green
Mexican brick weed, that was seeded.
It was skunky and funky. A pound had the entire house smelling. You could smell as
soon as you entered the house, and it was
sealed up. Damn,...i wish i could find it now!
The high was equally strong!
Texas roadkill from shoreline genetics is supposed to have lime green Mexican in it. I’m on the backend of flowering out 7 different females and there is nothing promising at this point - which is disappointing since others have said they’ve found some very stinky stuff,

Sensi Star x RKS from AKBB has a funky overripe fruit (green apple, banana, pineapple) aroma when smelling in the jar, but is by far the skunkiest thing I’ve smelled when you’re just outside the drying room after it hangs for 4-5 days, and if you crack a jar in a room, it doesn’t take long and the whole room has a sharp funky fruity, sulfur skunk smell. Definitely one of the overall loudest smelling flowers I’ve smelled.

The resin is very oily sticky and unique feeling. The high is very potent in the head and also strong body buzz, then puts you at a nice cruising altitude, carefree and mellow.
The flavor is good but not as good as it smells. Lovely plant. Made F2s and also crossed the males and females with a bunch of stuff.

Indoor, 5gal same soil. One of the constantly happiest looking plants I’ve ever grown.

You might message this person on Instagram. Ask if he has any Culverton Skunk seeds for sale. Ive not grown it so I cont confirm anything, but he is well liked, and has a good reputation.

Consistent baseball bats of Nasty rank skunk this was flipped from seed in a 1 gal pot there was 2 massive colas like this, love trimming this easy girl. My Culvertown Skunk is the most consistent skunk in seed form out there you will find it in less then 5 females. Kentucky boys do it best

What i find hilarious is from all these threads and on all these different weed forums and Kentucky and skunk comes up alot yet not a single person can actually confirm what it actually was they were growing they just say skunk and dont know what the actual genetics are imo rks or real skunk call it what u wish its a afghan or a hybrid of it of some kind but it be nice if we could pinpoint it for sure

Agreed. Feel the same way as it seems to be a mystery plant but Afghan seems to be in the right direction of correct lineage.

Back in the late 70s we got our Skunk from William Keith "Noodle" Hayes from Meigs County Ohio. He is also the originator of Meigs County Gold.

Im in Eastern Kentucky

He told my buddy, who knew him, that the skunk was a cross of Kerela, and an unnamed Afghan. We grew it from 1979- 1984, and then the cops got it. Some years later Noodles got ratted out and did 8 years in Federal Prison.
Noodles just died in 2020 and was about 75 years old. He was born in 1944. He had been collecting seeds since the late 60s. Back then Meigs County was known as the Humboldt County of the East. Willie Nelson used to get weed from him, and hes is known through Appalachia as one of the most well known, and respected breeders of good marijuana.
Noodles died in St Marys Medical Center in Huntington West Virginia in 2020.

William (Noodle) Hayes, 75 of Racine, OH (Antiquity community) went home Friday, January 24, 2020, at St Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

He was Born July 27, 1944 at Middleport, OH, to the late Arnold Wilson (Red) Hayes and Nettie Mae Badgley Hayes. He was a carpenter and mechanic. Noodle had a great love for his dogs and enjoyed working in his herb garden.

Survived by his known children Macenzie Hayes, Levi Ellis, Jeffrey Bodine Hayes, Tracy Hayes plus possible other children. 2 brothers Bob and Walt Hayes, special friend David Graham, 9 grand children known and others, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents preceded by daughter Vikki Hayes, son Brian Hayes, and brother Gene Hayes.

Memorial services are Friday, January 31, 2020, at 7 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, Ohio. A gathering of family and friends is 5 to 7 pm, Friday before services. Noodle's burial will be at a later date at Smallwood Cemetery, Vinton, OH. Online condolences @birchfieldfuneralhome.com.

Noodles son made a couple posts here on Rollitup.

Meigs County Gold | Rollitup
WebFeb 10, 2012 · I know a lot of people think that any marijuana grown from Meigs County, OH is Meigs County Gold but it's actually a popular strain from the 70s and 80s

It was allways a skunk no 1 hybred, especially east of the missi. The way it was procured causes lots of confusion, at the time a couple of grams of skunk costs as much as a whole oz of commercial columbian so it was pricey and rare, if a couple of seeds were found glory be, they would be passed to someone who grew or even sold for as much as the original grams cost. Lots of smokers would not even buy it if they had the chance, too pricey for them, but would smoke yours if offered then try to say it was treated.
Miegs county gold, the seeds I got were in 87 grew them out but I am convinced they were not the real deal. They were large afgani hindu style plants real rough smoke. The second Miegs county gold was a cutting a friend had a couple years later. It may have been the real deal, sativa leaning skunk looking plant it was good, just not good enough for me to keep or breed with. Kentuckians have had it rough when it comes to growing weed then and now, worse than ohio. Thanks for the Miegs song.

Ive never had a problem growing weed, nor any of my friends. Weve got so much weed in eastern ky its crazy. And in the 80s my buddy was doing more than 100lbs of skunk a year. Until the cops got it. He did 100lbs a year from 79-83, and the cops got it in 84. A so called friend ratted him out. They also went to his house, and found a about 4lbs of seeds of the skunk, and Beach Ball Indica. Kentucky grows about as much weed as any state in the union, and always has. Its hard for the helicoptors to get into some of the low valleys here in east ky, and can be a hazard for them to try.
My buddy also had another strain from Noodles called Beach Ball Indica. It would get about 4ft tall, and was round like a beach ball. It would dry to a deep red color, and was super choke weed, and would make you dizzy when you hit it. The cops got that from my friend at the same time they got his Skunk genetics. My buddy had thousands and thousands of those skunk seeds. Buzz wise the Beach Ball Incica was as good as the Skunk. But the Skunk produced huge yields, and wasnt as mold prone.
Noodles never mentioned his Skunk had any Sk1 in it, though the Meigs Gold was an Acapulco Gold x Skunk #2.
Noodles said his skunk was Kerala x some kind of Indica. He never would tell the Indica side, but the plants were heavy sativa leaning, and had longer than arm length colas. The plants would get 10 feet tall if put out early, and got alot of water, and food. We did alot of growing on the Big Sandy River, and the Ohio River. The plants would get huge in the sandy soil, and always got water from the ground water table. Only thing you had to worry about growing on the rivers, and lakes was fog in the fall. The best plants Ive even seen were grown on the Big Sandy, and Ohio rivers.
We also grew alot of weed at Grayson Lake, in Carter county. It a man made reserviour made in I think it was 1968. The Little Sandy River feeds it. And also Cave Run Lake. Its HUGE, and is in Daniel Boone National Forest. Its fed by the Licking River. Kentucky has the most inland water of any state in the lower 48.

Rough, because of draconian laws and sentencing, it has eased up north of the river. Did not see any skunk around here till 84 85 and it did come up from the south. I can not imagine trying to grow 100 lbs of skunk around here back then, it would of been found by someone. Never saw any plants like beach ball they must have got all the seeds of those, bad thing about getting caught they take everything. Learned to stay away from creeks and rivers, when it worked it was a good run, floods wiped them more often tho. Oinks used to dig through our car ashtrays looking for a couple of seeds or a roach, a felony back then.

I spent 12 years with the feds for cultivation. Partner ratted me out. He lived 150 miles away in Lincoln county Kentucky and had a 2000 acre farm. He was 70 years old, and I was 39. I was friends with his niece and nephew, and he used to raise cattle, but the bottom fell out, so he started groing weed. He didnt know much and the introduced me to him, and he rented a big house in my city, and bought all the lights ect and I made all the clone to put outside. Id made ablut 1200 clones, and gave him 500, plus 40 huge mother plants that were about 4ft tall in 5 gallon buckets, to put on his farm. Feds caught him, and he ratted me out, and they found about 750 more plus 20 plants I had inside flowering. I had made so many clones only to pick the best ones, and had a big place in the basement I had used pallets, and 18 inch tall boards for the sides lined with heavy plastic to make a grow box. It was about 15 x 15, and had 8 1000w HID. I also had 4 x 50 gallon garbage cans filled with water, and used a sump pump, and a hose attached to a broom stick to water them. I had about 170 clones in the grow box. I was hoping to get 2oz per plant. 340oz.

I pled guilty to a 10-LIFE Mandatory Minimum, and a 3-5 MILLION DOLLOR fine, which was waived. So I spent from 1997-2009 with the feds. 7 Years behind the fence, and 5 years supervised release. The old man that ratted me out got ZERO prison time, and I even got charged with all the clones he had, because I was the one that made them.

Hell of a story. I hope life is nothing but pleasant to you now.

I'm kinda high right now, so this may be pretty out there, but I'm thinking the Mexican connection may not be as farfetched as people might think. First off, skunk weed was everywhere in the US. Not just one state or a few states. It was also around long before any seedbanks were selling Sk1. When you look at the early history of cannabis use in the US, it does seem to be a plausible theory. Aside from all the imported brickweed and ready-to-smoke buds that were being smuggled in from Mexico, weed was also definitively being grown and smoked within the US as early as the 1930s, most of which was brought in by Mexican immigrants. I'm pretty sure that's also where the term "marijuana" comes from. It's also been speculated that a lot of the weed the Mexicans had was from multigenerational offspring of strains that were initially brought over to keep slaves calm, mainly originating from Central Asian genetics-- meaning, if it were an expression of say an Afghan or Indian, it could have been bottlenecked through decades of grows in Mexico and later the US. There really is a possibility that those heirloom seeds are the source of the skunk weed. Emphasis on possibility. Another thing is that the farmers in places like Afghanistan really aren't as selective as people want to believe. They kind of just throw seeds out and harvest the plants, then repeat. That might be why all these landrace companies aren't able to produce consistently uniform plants. You might get a meaty strain here and there in everything from Iran to Pakistan to Afghanistan, but you'll also get a bunch of fruity-tootie shit in all three areas as well. I've been going through everything I can get from that region, and haven't found one thing that I'd call exceptionally skunky. The Maruf Reds of ILE can exhibit subtle gasoline and leather scents, but are also riddled with dark fruit smelling plants. Plums, currants, grapes... that kind of thing. The Pakis seem to be mostly the same, but with sweet lemon and flowers added in, and instead of gasoline, more meat. The Iranians, (East Iran to be specific), are actually proving to be the most non-sweet, but again, not really skunk. Lots of old-school dank and meat, some pine, but not the skunk. I'm not saying it's not there, but I am certain it's very rare if it is. So my point with all this is that if everyone in the US had some form of skunk weed, it couldn't be some rare pheno. People weren't passing clones around at that time, and they weren't doing extensive selecting all over back then. But it could have been from a small batch of seeds that were brought over to Central America long ago for slave labor, then grown out for years and years and eventually dispersed throughout the US. That could also help explain why nobody can find it now... because it was from a very limited, very fluky line that has gradually been erased with time. I'm not saying that's what it is, just that it could be. I'm sure there's many other theories to be explored, or rather, more to it all that simply saying, "it's an Afghan", that could better piece it all together. Keep an open mind friends.
