Looking for strain with certain effects

I remember smoking a strain back in the day (year 2000) that had a very pleasant uplifting and motivational effect with a strong feeling of euphoria. Overall I'd classify the high as mild as the uplifting effects left me in a very comfortable place, not intense at all.

The only thing though was the high lasted only 20min. I would take a bong hit chill out for 30min or so before I took another hit and surprisingly would get back to the same level of highness. I did this for three hits more (over a couple hours) before I used up my small supply without any noticeable tolerance developing.

I had met the grower on an earlier occasion and found them to grow exclusively outdoors and generally Sativa dominants plants.

Also I found a few posts on here describing a similar effect:

Green Crack (outdoor) - Skunk#1 x Blue Cheese

Unknown Outdoor Sativa (image 3)

Anyone have any ideas what this strain was ? Or what cannabinoid profile causes these effects ? I'm guessing something high in THCV based on my limited knowledge on cannabinoids. This was in the days before strains with names were commonplace in my area, so I doubt it had any Blue Cheese in it. All anyone talked about was Skunk, Northern Lights, Durban Poison and Mangoes.

Cheers

Hey brotha... well I'm still a noob myself...after my research... your right.. you want sativa dominant. They grow tall, and take a while to finish flowering.. when you look into strains to grow yourself, I hear you want a high thc content with lower cbds... to give that uplifting euphoric high..sometimes people get nervous, jittery, and anxieties with that... again from what I read.. naturally high cbd low thc gives you the couch lock, more pain you're relief, sleep issues. Stuff like that... I'm also looking at that same uplifting effect... I have a few growing that "fits the bill" on the requirements..day 42 flowering.. green love potion, Spicey White Devil (Jack Herrera/blueberry cross), Hawaiian Wave.. as per description they give those attributes.. I also have purple paralysis and a Barneys LSD in.veg... I'm hoping for some good things from those two as well.. now as far as smoke.. I haven't. Tried any yet.. I got roughly another 40 days till harvest.. ill report back after its all cured abd let ya know :-). Again.. just research.. maybe someone that's actually experanced the effects your looking for will chime in.. this points you in the right direction..
I do.have a "green crack" bean I got from attidude from their xmas promotion that I'm excited to give a whirl.. so that's top on my list to try next.. that will be at least 5/6 months.. hope that helps :-)

Edit
Also the effect is different as the plant matures.. you would have to watch the tricomb production, and clear/cloudy/Amber in colors.. clear to.cloudy is more uplifting.. Amber more couch lock..this of course is in "general" ... some test buds in various stages to know what the effects will be... again.. in general :-)

Thanks for the input but the characteristics of the strain I'm after are very specific:

Very short lived 20-30min high
Overall "mild" high with uplifting & euphoric feeling
No raciness, anxiety or paranoia at all

Not too many breeders advertise a mild 20 min up high! I'm guessing it was old school genetics so I doubt any of these modern crosses is what I'm after. You could be right about time of harvest playing a factor though.

about that long ago i grew some seed called early sativa from great white north seed co. i think they came as substitutes for another variety from heaven's stairway. these didn't gow to big maybe 5' and a few ozs on each of the few plants i had of them. but sativa in structure otherwise. the buzz was realy nice and up and realy mild, also it was weak and short lived but also enjoyable.
i would have to say i wouldn't remember it much but i had also seen it in the cannabibles and the author also had similiar things to say about it. i don't have the cannabibles any longer but the easy sativa is in one of them. he probly gives a better description than the company that sells it.
they still have it for sale i looked at hemp depot just now. it may not be the same but it sounds similiar. it definitly was not powerful bud just nice.

Cannabinoids obviously have an effect, but one of the few of us who can legally pretty much do anything he wants with the Cannabis plant (Sam the Skunkman aka one of the creators of Skunk #1) has suggested terpenes play perhaps an even larger role. Comparing a Thai with an Afghani - near identical cannabinoid profiles, only different terpenes and the difference in effect was dramatic. His own words.

Sativa dominant though is what you're looking for I'd say. There are many options out there and it depends on your own limitations and situation and desires. I can tell you have researched a lot. Never buy a strain without doing some homework on it IMO. Grow reports etc.

Check out some of the offerings by Mandala IMO. A few that fit your description almost perfectly. They have a great reputation for their end product matching their description and do some real actual breeding. Worth supporting. Reasonable prices etc.

Yeah no doubt a sativa dominant but other than that you are not going to be able to get much more information.
There are tons of sativa hybrids that shoot off phenotypes with the effects you are describing. No way to narrow it down more than that.

Ogeviegenious is 100% correct. Terpnes play a huge role in the effect. For instance jack herer a stable strain has a lemon phenotype that has sedative effects that help people with insomnia. The cannabinoid profile is identical to other phenos but the terpenes determine how we feel the effect of those cannabinoids. Why is not fully known, but it is being researched.

I think the only way to find what you are looking for is to grow out some sativas and select those that are closest to what you prefer. Or if you are in a legal state go to a reputable dispensary where they sell mmj from clones they also sell and buy your preferred plants that way.

An uplifting, 20 minute high....
Sounds like freebase cocaine.

Did your entire world boil down into the single intense desire to smoke more....
even though it wasn't that enjoyable???

Sit there, jittery and shakey. Heart pounding and thumping. Throat sore, dry mouth that tastes like aspirins crushed up in a dirty ashtray.
Bank balance dropping like a stone in a well.....
BUT ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS SMOKE SOME MORE.... .

Horrid substance that turns men into beasts.
Yet, for some strange reason, cocaine has a much sexier image and reputation than heroin....

Dopeydog:
Early Sativa sounds about what I'm looking for. I'll check it out. Cheers. I also have the cannabible set not sure why I didn't see it there. At least it gives me an excuse to have a browse through again :)

OGEvilgenius:
You could be right on there with the terpenes. When looking at the testing labs most strains these days have very high THC and negligble CBD,CBC,CBG and CBN. Very interesting. More terpene profiling needs to be done IMO. It's a shame Greenhouse is the only seedco I know of that releases this info.

althor: Yes I kinda guessed that might be the case. But I have limited time and space to run multiple strains and pheno hunt. I was kinda hoping someone had already done the work for me lol

Thanks for the input guys!

Allow me to repeat: Look @ Mandala seeds because they have strains that describe what you're looking for perfectly and have a great reputation.

Just checked them out then. 8-miles high sounds similar to what I'm looking for but after further research I'm pretty sure the strain was Durban Poison. I'm gonna give it a try next run :)
