Hola everyone, starting my 2nd grow (going to keep a grow journal) but was wondering if anyone knew some good soil "recipes", im doing everything a bit more upscale but theres no way i could afford all that soil (ffof) to be shipped. (no place around here has it)
so all i have to work with is home depot, lowes, ace, or walmart.
any help would be awesome.

thanks.

yo bro.
i use soil.
and i know EXACTLY what you need. very cheap.
i go to home depot cuz its right down the streeet.

but HALF perlite and HALF peat moss.
maybe a little more perlite.
but it is a completely soilless mix.
completely organic.

ive been growing for half a year now and it works great for soil growers.
because you can completely control the nutes, ph level, and everything a lot easier

sounds awesome heatless, thanks.
I was planning on keeping the nutes simple and just sticking to fox farm (bug bloom, grow big, and tiger bloom), would this be sufficent with the 1/2 perlite, 1/2 peat moss mix?

I have used several mixes and what works best for me is:

50% compost (its my own so i know its organic)
25% worm castings (again, my own so i know its organic)
15% coarse sand - not sandbox sand
10% perlite

Its very rich, but wont burn tender clones or seedlings. It holds moisture very well, is nicely airated, and it doenst compact much so the roots can grow very easily in it.

Been doing alot of research and think ive got it figured out, going to home depot tomorrow and getting some perlite, peat moss, and some worm casting(dont know if they sell it at home depot) for the top soil.
Thanks alot everyone, going to get a grow journal here soon, (PPP feminized and 600w hps), so check it out.
