Looking for new Led..any recommendations?

i think someone just bought the 4 spot chrome for $285, i got mine for little less but was part of a trade since my 180w went screwy
 
my old blackstar 180w was the round ufo style and it was the high output model more for veg/clone. something started to discharge current up the hanging wire from the light. touching the metal hanging wire was the same sensation as putting your tongue to a 9 volt battery. i didn't want to mess with it and i needed something with more flower power so i upgraded with some help from the guys at lighthouse.

as far a specs for the new chrome the guys at the shop said its the same spectum as the other blackstar models just more focused lens
 
what do you guys think of the Spectra 180? I've heard good and bad. Read good reviews on it but again there isn't much proof out there on these lights.

Was considering an HTG 270w 7band Led until I read they are china made. Read really good things about PRO-GRO 180..suppossedly Cree chips used

Their all made in china just pick the one with the best (legit)grows and warranty..........happy hunting
 
I'm on my first grow with a ProGrow 260 and it's working out great. Way less heat and expense than my old 400w MH. I'm 4 weeks into flower and the girls seem pretty happy. Just a few more weeks and then I'll let you know what I really think after the true test :bigjoint:
 
I got a 240w veg blackstar light and love it. The plants are loving it for veg and look great. I'd like to get one more for a bit more coverage eventually. As far as the fans mine are really quiet not noisy at all. Just got mine last week.

Considering getting either 2 x 500w or 1 x 900w blackstar for the flower room to replace my 400w hps. I just don't think 240ws (unless I got 3 or 4) would give me the yields I'm looking for, and they're not very intense for flowering. I would definitely think 2 500ws or 1 900w should be bright enough to produce really nice yields. I got a limited grow space so I gotta maximize yields but also can't handle high temps.
 
ok, read 3 pages, didnt see one post about " Actual Draw". Some LED lights are 240 watts and some just say they are. If your supplier gets thier lights from someone else? it has to show Maxium POSSIBLE wattage for appliance, ( light ). not actual draw. here is a site that reviews LED's http://ledgrowlightsreview.org/

ANSI regulations require that electronic products must state the maximum wattage the unit CAN pull, which as you have read may not be the actual draw. So our branded LED's will pull the stated wattage. You have the 240w LED and that does pull 240w.


The AgroMax Professional LED's pull on average 80% of what they are described as, due to the fact that they are sold to distributors and no directly to the customer, and thus fall under ANSI requirements.

I was just HTG supply 2 days ago and this info is not correct.. The manager said to me (looking at the store computer) that actual draw on the HTG 240w LED is 155w. Sooooooo, someone is not telling the truth weather it shipping manager or store manager. Either way it looks bad. On a brighter note it does have a 5 yr warranty!!!!
 
I own a Pro-Grow 180, x2 Blackstar 180's, and x2 Blackstar 100's.

I like the Pro-Grow better than my Blackstars. It has a more natural looking spectrum, and feels like better build quality.

I believe the 155w actual draw that the store manager told you. First, if you run LEDs @ max rating, they will be smoked in short order. My research found a thread on grass city that had a toker that claimed that he put a meter on his HTG 7 band 240w and his actual draw at the plug was 157w. I believe him. My research has also shown that watts are watts in large degree. You want 40+ watts/sqft for successful grow according to the preponderance of info I have read.

I have a 2x4x6 cab and I am planning to use 2 HTG 7band 240w.. and maybe add some HO T5 UVA bulbs in the corners for flowering.
