Ok so i am researching things and the subject of DWC/Bubbleponics. First off, I have two plants now but currently in soil.... I have no patience when it comes to plants lol. I know the rapid growth of DWC and all. its not turbo microwave ready, but its quicker than soil :D.

So i want to build my own Bubbleponics, I want at the most 3 plants. So Im not sure how many gallons to get a rubbermaid. I have a 30 gal currently so if that can be used that is great lol. I would do 5 gal buckets, but im working in a closet with CFL's. I have 4 6500k and 4 2700k currently. I will obtain more in the future. So i want to start from Clone to Harvest, so I imagin a 30gal is good? I know i need a pump, how many gal pump? Do i 2 lines with lots of 6 inch airstones? ( I read on here people expierincing problems with the 1 foot ones. I wanna make it easy and all, I know you need to change the water once a week or something like that. But I would like help on building this guys and I want all your knowledge and support behind me. I know the family at RIU is great, so lets do this :-P.

Thank you so much everyone who posts here with support in helping me with sucess and all. Even if you dont wanna say much, Link me to whatever it is you find. once again Thank you all.

Dude, 30gal for 3 plants would be plenty of room.

I would do 5 gal buckets, but im working in a closet with CFL's.
Check out my grow, I've got 6 plants in a 4gal res. They're autos, but it's just an example. I'm using cfls as well, and it's going good so far.

Do whatever you need to do, as long as a good amount of bubbles reach the surface under your net pots.

Thank you so much everyone who posts here with support in helping me with sucess and all. Even if you dont wanna say much, Link me to whatever it is you find. once again Thank you all.
Hey, creation of life is a constant learning experience for all of us... I'm on my first grow too, and I learned everything I know from this forum. Good luck, and stay up.

If i can give any advice to would be get a duel air pump and two 12 in air stones from walmart i think it cost about 10 dollars for the air pump and like 5 dollars for the two air stones. i know i paid less than 20 buck after taxes, thats if you have a walmart around where you live... Keep us posted and good luck with your grow m8.

Use whatever size you want. 3 plants will fit in pretty much any tub. Take a look at the GrowFAQ... You'll learn pretty much everything you need to know.

I know lol Ive been reading it as much as every little word. LOL i just wanna have a great ratio of water, for nutes and res and all. im thinking maybe the 18 or 22 gallon rubbermaid from wally world.

Im Rocking 2 girls in a 10 gallon tote in my bloom room. I have 3 clones in the same size tote in my veg room. I personally wouldn't go more than that in a tote. My plants are HUGE. Im going to post new pics to night. DWC is so easy. I have been following the basics and I have massive plants. I vegged under CFL's... blooming under 400W HPS. GH Nutes. I bought everything i needed with the exception of my HPS light and Nutes at discount stores and second hand stores. Good luck. Take a look at my link. Let me know if you have any questions! https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/178489-first-time-grow-dwc-pics.html

A rule of thumb that I use is I like to have 1 gallon for each foot my plant grows. You have 3 plants and if they are an indica with a 30 day veg they will get around 3 foot tall so 3 plants X 3 foot = 9 gal of root space needed. The tub you have is plenty and with that big of a res you wont have to dump your water as often. But the size of your res is definitely big enough almost to the point of excessive. On air pumps I have found that using 2 air pumps works better than a bigger pump with dual outlets. The reason for this is in the past I lost an air pump and everything in my res died. If I would have had 2 pumps going the other would have kept my res alive till I replaced the air pump that quit. Just food for thought. Something that happened to me anyways. Good Luck with your grow. Peace :peace:

Thanks man so much for the info That actually helps alot. Ill read into some pumps and ill go for the two pump idea. Now one newb of a DWC question....Would i need two 10 gallon tubs and i was thinking with a 10 gallon and 3 plants how big would the net pots have to be? How much nutes should I get....other questions i have are being answered as im reading the FAQ. Thank you all for your help aswell.

the bigger net pot you use the better, I have a tub with 3" net pots and hate them. When the plants get bigger they like to tip over. My 3.75 net pots are better. My next grow I will probably do shallow 6" netpots. As far as nutes you it all depends on what nutes you want to use. Quart bottles will probably last you a couple of grows anyways.

I have (2x) 30 gal tubes, My philosophy is the bigger the bettter,:grin:The greater the tub the more space each plant has to grow and not try to fight each other for light. Besides the more space in the tub the more space to grow roots. Which in return will help your plants grow faster and healthier. The mistake most new growers make is they think because they have all this space in this huge tub that they can fill it with more plants. :dunce:That's a big mistake, that referes to the old saying quantity over quality. Yes you can grow more plants but your bud will surly suffer. But also keep in mind that you'll use more nutes this way. And we both know that nutes aren't the cheapest things when it comes to growing. But don't use this as some type of rule because I have seen people grow insane sized plants :fire:out of 10 gal tubs with 3 1/2in net pot, So with all that said, its all up to you and the amount of space you have to set up your grow. Wish you the best of luck m8 ~Black SS

looks like you have all your questions answered... but just another tip...

put each plant in a separate container. i'm currently using a 7 gallon container for 3 plants (2 different strains). though it's going well now, i have a very small problem down the road. the two strains have different flowering durations, so i might be forced to harvest on strain prematurely.

a lot of other perks to separate tubs... easier to change water, no entangling of roots, etc.

good luck with your grow. feel free to check out my grow log (link in my signature).

I just buy 5 gal black buckets and wrap them in white tape. Drill a hole on the side of the bucket just below the lid and feed your air line through there and hot glue it in. Trim up the hose at the bottom of the bucket so your air stone sits in the middle of the bucket. Plug in your air pump and you're good to go. Separate buckets allow me to do more than one strain at a time since they can be flushed independently.

If you do decide to go with a big tub just make sure the lid is very sturdy. You are talking about a lot of weight once those are all in full bud mode.
