Looking for Help on my First Grow.

I just started my first grow and I'm 24 hours into it. It's extremely low budget (What I had lying around my house.) and I'm just looking for advice on how to maximize it.

My set-up is four pre-germinated bag seeds (not going all out on my first grow. This is mainly a learning experience for me.) in Miracle Grow potting mix under four fluorescents. I'm not a fan of super soil but it's what was lying around.

Anyone with any advice to help me learn is appreciated. Peace.

What can 1 say?

Less is more, especially with miracle grow!
Do lots of reading & good Luck.

reading does help like speeka says, if you can me local hydro store recomends promix for medium with a little biotone mixed in, it has all the good to keep youd babies healthy up to 3 months. since its a first round try to keep it simple as much as posible. mixing nutes on young plants can be very unforgiving.
another hard less I had - dont use water that goes thru a salt containing water softener

I've been reading A LOT on here. It has been a plethora of information jammed into my by brain so I feel pretty comfortable with the grow as I can now recite information like a textbook.

I don't have a water softener so I guess that is good news but I do have high Iron content in my water as I have a well and not city water. Will this harm my youngsters or could it be beneficial?

Thanks for the posts guys! The help with these little things is what's gonna make this tick like clockwork. Also I am 72 hours in not 24 like the post said. I copy/pasted this from a thread that got bombed by a guy trying to pirate the post instead of making his own thread. Advice for low budget improvements, immediate (what I may have lying around. Unemployment Sucks!) or future, to my grow area would be awesome as well. My area is a 12'x16' bedroom that is totally cleaned out so the sky is the limit once I get some money flow. Thanks again, guys and gals.

In soil you should be ok with your well water, but keep it in mind if problems occur later down the road. Paint your grow area white, save money on mylar. The area you have is big , but that can become problematic, later on when you are in flowering. Read up on environment & how you can improve yours. That will be as important as anything else, lighting, nutrients & seeds included.
Also as you are only 72 hours in & managed to start a thread about it, I take it you are very eager. So much so that its on your mind a lot to say the least. :D Just make sure it stays in your mind & not on your lips. ;)

Most definitely staying on my mind aside from what I post on here. I was ecstatic when i saw a 1" sprout had popped up overnight! It's good to know the iron shouldn't be a problem when I water my babies. I'm working on creating an isolated climate in there as we speak so I can control the temp better as well as setting up an area for the flower cycle.

The wallpaper is mostly white but I have some white drywall compound I could substitute for paint as I hate the wallpaper anyways and don't care if I mess it up. Would this work?

The biggest thing with growing is patience. The first couple of grows I did I killed the plants with kindness so to speak. Overwatered, over nuted, you name it, I did it. Learn from your mistakes and good luck! Keep us posted.

I just checked on my plants and two more have sprouted but they look quite odd. They aren't green but instead are a greyish brown color. I wish I could take pics but alas all I have is adjectives. My question is: Is this something I did wrong/should be concerned about, or does it happen sometimes?
