think i gonna change res in a week with distilled water and adjusted nutrients.

2-3weeks growing

after doing some more reading my ppm is high(400-600) for not using nutes so i think the "nestle pure life" bottled water i using is adding some things i don't want.

the ingredients are purified water, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and magnesium sulfide in that order.

does anyone know if these ingredients are good?
are they causing my ppm to increase?
not changing my res seems to be working better for me than changing it. like to stay comfortable, i do.

Why would you use fortified water for your plants? Sodium bicarb is baking soda, and calcium chloride is TUMS, I think.

I wouldn't want any of that in my rez.

Maybe alitle to much calcium .
Allthough magnesium is 1 of the benificial nutrients I bet the nute your useing as about 1mg pr litre mix. Plain old tap water is serficent. Run a air pump or leave it stand for 24 hr is plenty, Years ago before I started testing water PH-EC and went buy the label I found I run into PH issues later in flower
What does it say the PH is? are you checking PH??

I just use plain old tap water. I fill a 20 litre bucket and let it sit over night, then the next day add my nutes and ph it. I have yet to have ppm or ph problems.:peace:

That is very high.

RO water is best, or rain water.

I'm using a mix of rain water and tap water, I use the rain water to bring my PPms down to 140, I do this beacuse my tap water is from a well and high in calcum which courses magnisum lock out.

My instinct says that there is something up with your water mix at the moment.

heres what i know.

first i have the GH pH up/down kit with liquid tester from wormieway

according to the indicator i am yellow/orange which is between 5-6.
so i should be ok there.

i am using a sunleaves hand held TDS tester. also from worms way. is small slim model that you just dip end in the res and give it a few seconds then take reading.

i just took a reading and it was 525ppm

i also checked the ppm of the nestle pure life and got a reading of 75ppm.

i am not on town or city water. the old man i bought house from had a well and it is still going strong. fresh well water.
i checked the ppm and got a reading of 90ppm. but i think that the last time i pH'd it, it was high like close to 8.

i also seem to be getting a white powder residue build up from evaporation.i am pretty sure this is the bicarbonate, as the same thing happens on my waste water system.(we use sodium bicarb to control low ph)

i think I'll give my guys till Friday then change the res.
