What's up guy. So I'm growing a few plants right now that are pretty late in the flower stage. About week 9. My problem is I'm always unsure when to cut. I have a 100x magnifier so I can see the trichomes well. Their all milky white with a few amber here and there. So I started my flush. I'm growing dwc by the way. This is my first time with hydro. With past harvest I've always cut too early or too late and haven't gotten the curing process down yet. But what worries me with them now is they seem to have stopped swelling although they still have lots of white hairs. Trichomes like I said are milky. But the buds are softer to the touch. I harvested late once before and the bud turned out almost spongey. Not compressed at all. Ill see if I can attach some pics with this and hope to get some feedback.

First off... I grow the same plant every time, so there is no confusion, as to when my plants are done...

Every plant I grow, before it is ready to harvest, ALL the white new hairs growing out of the top cola... STOP growing...
So, no new white hairs....
Then, all those growing reaching white hairs will recede back into bud....
Check your original Calyx, that thing that told you you had a female plant remember?
Yes, check it... Should be triple size and looks like it will split...
Then your plant should be done, or close, or as I like to say: "Your harvest window opens"

Spongie buds... to early... not too late....
Most likely you have harvested early every time... most [new] growers do...

Stick to convention and harvest when the trics are the desired color, stop touching the plants just discolors the issue

Yeah...

Genetics play the largest role in the density of the bud.
Harvesting early/low wattage is usually the cause of fluffy bud.

Two of the plants are jock horror from nirvana. They were supposed to be autos but turned out they weren't. No complaint here. Say flowering time is 9-11 weeks. But it also seems the stems on the one that seems spoungie are starting to hollow. This has happened before but when I was in soil. I keep my ph between 5.8-6.4 for the most part. Room temp is steady at 78-80. Is the hollowing normal or is this a problem?
