Alright so first of all, I live in Canada, which is why you won't see mention of spinosad in my efforts so far, but I have received some in the mail which I can now use going forward. Thank you very much in advance for anyone willing to read all this and offer feedback and advice
I have 3 5x5 tents in 3 seperate rooms in my basement. I will refer to each tent as tent A, B and C
Tent A is veg tent and Tent B and C are flower.
All 3 tents are LED strip fixtures I built. Bridgelux.
Tent C is where I currently have my flowering buds that will be ready to chop within the next week.
In this tent C run, I experienced both thrips and white powdery mildew for the first time in my couple years of growing. I got some zombie kush clones from a buddy and I'm pretty sure that both issues came from him but that's neither here nor there and I just wanna know what to do to get through this harvest and ensure it never happens again.
Here is a run down on what I've done so far.
-Increased airflow in tent C (bought a tower fan to go in there in addition to the floor oscilating woozoo fan I already had.)
-bought safers 3 in 1 insecticide and fungicide. (I sprayed this every 4 or 5 days in flower until I noticed that the thrips and WPM had gone away.)
Then I noticed some fairly agressive foxtailing occurring. for that I:
-Reduced the power on my lights.
I researched more since it wasn't stopping and realized that I probably just have too much nutes in my soil. I haven't flushed. for this I am planning to:
-get another res barrel that I just keep full with phd water with calmag UC roots for periodic flushes through the grow as well to use for watering new plants for the first week or so.
-Will flush Tent C tonight.
Now here is the biggest problem I'm currently facing. about 3 days ago I noticed the WPM made a very agressive comeback and last night I saw my first thrip in atleast a week.
Like I said, Harvest is coming up within the next week.
It seems to me like my only option is water curing. I really would like to avoid that but I made a rule for myself that I have to finish every grow right now no matter if it makes more sense to just trash it and purge and move on. I want to learn from every situation by forcing myself through it.
Is it possible to give them another spray with the 3 in 1 then give a good wash a day or 2 before harvest with a straight water spray during lights off?
Finally, Once I've gotten through this. what should I do to make sure this doesn't happen again? I current have a batch of LSD fem just about ready for flower in tent A and will be cutting clones from them tonight which will take over that tent when the current lsd moves to tent B.
-Right now I'm thinking bomb tent b and c once Tent C is harvested and Before Tent A batch is moved into Tent B, increase air flow between room B and C to avoid WPM and keep spinosad on hand in case I see thrips again.
