Lolipopping during flowering

Hey guys, this is my first post and I'm on my second harvest. I tried searching through the forums to find more info on why the community disagrees with lolipopping during flowering, so I was hoping someone could shed some light (haha:weed:) on why you can't? Is there any benefit in trimming fan leaves towards the bottom?
I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread on it from the search.
I'm looking for more of the specifics or science behind it, I'm purely curious and want to learn more. Thank you, blessings

Thank you! So what about in the case of autoflowers since it's harder to measure the true flowering start? My last autoflower I'll probably ever do is about 3 weeks to finishing. I read somewhere that flushing can cause a kind of stress on the plant that helps it produce more trichomes, I thought maybe minor defoliaging might have the same effect, that's why I was curious

I'm a photo guy. I would not remove any leaves that are not with or of issue on autos. No recovery time.
