Location dilema

So I thought I had my perfect spot picked out... Close to where I live, protected from deer, good soil, pretty well hidden. It literally has a natrual wall of thorn bushes on one side and another natrual wall of some viny shrub. I then used fallen trees to fill in the other two sides to form a natrual room with a completely open top for sunlight.

Yesterday my GF says I probably shouldn't grow there because risk of someone finding it. (It is on the edge of town and people do live near.) but I loved here my whole life and that patch of woods is a royal nightmare to get through during the middle of summer, thorns, density, bugs and just in general a bitch to walk through!

She suggests plant near my cabin (1 hour away not hard to make a day trip once a week) A pain? Yes but doable. But here is the problem with up there: I have yet to find a spot with decent dirt, everything is a mangled mess of roots therefore I would have to haul in a ton of dirt and not to mention find a nice spot with a good opening in the canopy! Plus it is not protected from deer like the one close by is.

What do I do!?

Spot one:
Good dirt
Good light
Deer protection
Natrual camo
Close to other people
Limited to about 5 plants

Spot two (cabin):
Soil is very questionable
Light might be scarce
99% sure it will never be discovered for years
Unlimited ammount of growing space ;)

Water is not an issue at either spot.

Both in east/ NE PA

If I were you I would probably opt. for both if it isn't too much of a hassle. When I grew outdoors I never put all my eggs in one basket. There are too many dirtbags who are to lazy to grow but are not to lazy to search out someone elses.Besides all that is there really any such thing as too many?????

Hm I didn't really think of that. Who knows maybe one spot will grow better than the other. I need to do some serious thinking as I am going to put the plants out soon...

When I grew outdoors I grew in dead sand it was old clear cuts in western maine. The soil wasn't that great but some(abot 2 cups /sq yd of hole) 10-10-10-amonium nitrate 2-3(grain) bags of moo doo and a cup or two of powderd lime and the stuff performed like a champ with absolutely no tending at all.

Well that makes me feel a little better. The undergrowth up there does grow pretty darn well too so the soil can't be horrible. Oh this is my first grow by the way

I grew outdoors for years until I got busted now I am medical patient and everything is indoors...lol...I am just learning that myself so I know how it is.I did every hole just as described as above and had excellent results for years no matter where I grew.As far as not having great light by your cabin just remember that plants don't need full sun all day they will do just fine if you can find a spot where you can get at least 6 hrs of direct light per day(the more the better but).Good luck with your fist grow and keep posting I'm intrerested on how you make out.

No one will go near thorns I live in Virginia and we got thorns pretty bad and when I walk through the woods I never say to myself " hey I want to go into those thorns over there" I avoid thorns when hiking and I probably chould have walked past 1000s of weed plants and whould have never seen it and if I did a couple yards of heavy thorns whould deter me

I go with both.. Just make sure you're not seen going in and out of the location near your house. Good luck this season!

Yeah te thorns are a royal pain in the ass and arms and legs lol nobody will want to go in there. As for people seeing me; I try and go at really random times of the day an there is a trail near by that I use to get to the creek to fish.

It needs to get warm out! My plants won't be able to be disguised with the rest of my garden plants because they are beginning to look like cannabis and my parents aren't stupid lol. I don't think they will care I'm 23 and do what I want. Hopefully buying a house this summer my gf and I are on the hunt now!

So what are you asking? want us to link you spots on google earth with places that meet your criteria. I will say this, you have a month till the season starts and are still figuring a place to do it?!? fuck the soil, get bails of promix and haul them in, your plants will thank you, huge difference between straight native soil, and good bagged soil. look more at your cabin, Im sure theres good spots around there that you've never looked at, and are just more familiar with spot 1. fencing for deer ("oh its not camo"...get creative) or not, some ppl have no deer problems not using fencing. Basically Id spent the rest of your time scouting your cabin area, take a nice day, walk the dog. working with ground can be tough especially not knowing the area, so id advise containers of some kind this year. remember u got a month, to figure all this shit out. spend your time looking for a remote sunny spot, and grow them out in containers. It will be easier on short notice, and you can spend time this year scouting ground areas for next year
