I got a pretty big storm today and althought we didnt lose power or anything it got me thinking.

What if I lose power?

How many hours or days can my plants be in total darkness in the veg state or in the flower state without ruining them or causing them to get to a point of no return in say veg to flower or flower to harvest?

I dont see this as much of an issue as in the 7 years I have lived here I have only lost power 1 time for more then 12hrs.

Should I think about getting a some back up lights that run on batterys to get to through till the power comes back? A gen. is out of the question.

Thanks all.

Sounds like you don't need to worry too much but the over cautious use peer generators. I have a quiet Honda that can run my house pretty much.

If you run DWC grows you will be in trouble fast. Get a computer battery back up and use it for your air pumps. light wise there is sunlight.......

www.dealextreme.com sell inverters for cheap....gt a few deep cycle car batteries and for under 300 you should be good. You wont want to run your HID lights, but you can run enough cfl to keep the light cycle stable, and your air pumps and all..

The inverters are various wattages, including 1000w.

+rep if helped :d
