Little 15 Plant Pheno Hunt

Last grow was fairly successful. While I was growing the White Widow from Nirvana for my first grow in a few years, I caught the “seed bug”. I spent WAY too much on beans but I’m at least glad I ended up with what should be some bomb gear.

Wanted to do a little pheno hunt in my own style. I have 2 different 2x4 tents and one smaller tent all going. I found that the Viparspectra 400w lights do well for veg to keep tight nodes. I have 3 going for the seedlings.

My flower tent (currently with 1 really nice WW going just to fill the space) is ready to take in some new girls in smaller pots.

I’ve got 10 Velvet Krush seedlings from Old World Genetics going.

I also added in 3 Raspberry Cough feminized from Nirvana because I’ll surely have some male plants.

Also, I added 2 freebie seeds from DC Seed Exchange called “Blueberry Milk”.

All 15 seeds sprouted and are under way! The plan is to veg all viable plants for about 5 weeks then cut clones from all plants and set aside in my smaller tent. Pick one or two healthy males and maybe make seeds. Flower all the girls from seed in small pots to hopefully find a keeper in one 2x4 under the HLG320xl. (Love this light!)

The White Widow in one of the 2x4 tents has been flowering for about 3 weeks. I’ll finish her (a bit early) in there to make room for new shit. She’s looking good under the HLG. I really liked this strain and had good response after several handout samples. I’m just trying to keep her going for a few runs. Super good bud...

All plants are in straight coco. I tried switching nutrients for some plants a bit ago to a company I won’t mention. Plants hated the “all in 1 nutrient approach” big time. Ended up tossing 2 plants out due to some CRAZY deficiencies. Kept the 1 WW. Went back to Canna Coco full line. Yeah, it’s pricey and it’s a lot of bottles. I found it EASIER to manage than that cheap smelly shit in a big bag. Fuck that shit haha!

Anyway, here are the 15 seedlings. Please excuse the blurple. I found that these lights rock for early veg. Have a couple mutants. I always get excited for mutants...

So it’s been a while... figured I’d finally update this. It’s been a lot of work for a small grow.”

I narrowed down from the 15 plants to 1 pheno I’ve chosen.

I ended up with 4 males of the Velvet Krush and tossed all but 1. Picked the one that had the best smell and prettiest leaves. Collected pollen and chucked at a nice White Widow clone and a nice Bubblicious clone and ended up with a few hundred seeds of each cross. Super excited about these seeds, but it may be a while before I run them because I did find a pheno that exceeded my expectations. The first picture below is about 3 weeks before chop...

I had some crazy fox tailing with most plants, mostly because all plants grew ONTO the light in the small 4x2 tent I had. I figured pretty quick that I needed a bigger tent. Got a 4x4 and another led light (mars sp320). Have plenty of clones. About to run a 4 plant, 4x4 coco scrog run with this pheno.

Have about 3 oz off of my favorite pheno in jars curing now... Did no training, whatsoever. Look at the color... This plant is amaze balls! Smells like a half smoked bowl and rotten berries, if you can imagine. Smells “burnt” or like a pipe with a half smoked bowl in it mixed with blueberry cheesecake.

Lovely! I’m happy, though it’s hard to capture the color with a cell phone pic.

Nirvana Raspberry Cough is one beast of a plant by the way... again, temps and light proximity was a problem, but look at this girl...

Still haven’t chopped her, but this is untrained in a less than optimal tent. This was a few weeks ago
