No, just leave em, in fact work out the date 3 weeks from now and don't even look at them again until then, even pinpricks of light cause hormonal disturbance etc...

hmmm...I leave my jars on the fridge(getto IC) and light has never caused me a prob...but what works for you may indeed not work for me...thats the great part about this hobby...there is no one "proper" way to grow boomers...;)

correct there is no one proper way.
but there are ways that work better then others, and leaving
your jars in the dark does make your mycellium grow faster.

We have some friends with lab access and have tested this, there is a drop in yield and potency as well as more uneven fruiting timing.
The fungi are very forgiving in conditions it will tolerate though, but I always feel that if I am producing for myself, it is one opportunity to get the best quality possible.

I have a friend who has grown for 30 years...he advocates no difference in either yield or potency...ying or yang I suppose.
