Liquid Co2

I threw this question out in another thread not long ago but I wanted to get more input about it. I have a product called liquid co2 boost put out by aquarium pharmaceuticals. It's basically made for aquatic plants. I was hesitant to use it but tried it anyway. My plants shot up literally overnight after adding this product. Has anyone ever used anything like this? I'm really new, this is my first grow, I'm running a 400 mh and a 400 hps in a 4x4 tent. I keep the 10 gallon res aerated at all times, ph 5.8, temps are around 80. I just set up an exhaust fan yesterday. I planted my sprouted seeds about 5 weeks ago and my plants are big bushy and around a foot tall already. I started using the liquid co2 at week 3 when I switched to 12/12. They were only around 4 inches at the time. The strains I'm working with are neville haze and green poision. I actually started in march with other strains but had a power failure and they didn't get any water for an entire day. Unfortunately those all died. =o( also, I'm using ionic grow & bloom for nutrients. I'm keeping the ppm at around 200 right now. Should I raise that? I don't want to burn them but I think I'm being a little too careful and don't want to starve them either..... Any help/advice please.

I started to raise that some and will continue to until I get up around 1200. My plants are around 5 or 6 weeks now. But my main question was about that liquid co2..... Anyone???????

Liquid Co2 comes in a tank correct? I think that is what you mean correct? I use Co2. Helps the plants specially when kept at about 1500ppm in the room your growing in. That is what plants breathe in and 1500 is a great level for it. Helps my plants grow faster and give some extra yield when flowering. Also I have noticed that some strains can take higher PPM then others. I like to raise it until just the tips of leaves show slight sign of burn then back off a tad so they are at the max for that particular strain. Do not jump up to much though could have a bad effect and torch your plants.

Nope the stuff I have is a liquid additive. You only use 1 ml per 10 gallons. I'll post a picture of the bottle later. I've upped the ppm to 300 or so, so far. Is a day long enough to wait before going higher?

where did u get it at petsmart? mite have to try it out would be easy then going to the paintball store and fillin up 3 20oz tanks

It being a bad idea is why I asked all of you about it. Lol all I know is my plants are healthy looking, bushy, and have leaves the size of my hand. I'm a woman so my hands aren't that big but still..... Stems are thick, leaves are a nice dark green, and some of them are already getting little buds. This is my first grow but not the first time I've seen a grow room. Although after reading on this site I've learned that my friend didn't have exactally ideal conditions. He didn't measure the ph, kinda just added the same amount of ph up out down every time he refilled the res. I think he tested it once and just assumed it was always the same. I'll post some pics when the lights come on. One of the plants isn't even showing sex yet while others have buds? Is that weird? Should I just pull that one?

It is not true Co2. It as an aquarium addative that releases carbon in a usable form for aquatic plants. It's ad says that it also slowly reduces co2 but that does not make it liquid co2. I have no experience with this product and I'm just speculating that there are probably dissolved nutrients in this product that would be beneficial to a hydro grow.

Co2 is only found in three forms solid(frozen, dry ice) gas, and liquid. Co2 will only stay in liquid form under at least 800psi. Less than 800 psi and the liquid co2 becomes gas. If Co2 Booster was truly liquid co2, it would immediately boil away into gas as soon as you introduced it into your system. -

if your growin nevilles haze it can take up to four weeks to start flowering after you flip! try droping your sced to like 10 on 14 off for a week and then go back, thatell helpem flip faster and get them to show sex. IMO bad strain for a first grow but if thats all ya got to work with?

when plants grow in an aquarium they take c02 out of the water to process in photosynthesis, since your not growing plants underwater that c02 boost is a waste of $$$, for your first grow try to keep everything very simple KISS and just keep the basics covered. the important things are

room temps 73-80f
res temps 68-75f
ph 5.5-6.5
ppm 700-1400 dpending on strain

if you wanna add c02 to your AIR 1200-1500 is recomended
I recomend GH nutes and the lucas formula for beginers and pros

concentrate on keeping these variables under control and after you pull a couple harvests and then you will have a baseline to compare new products too? keep the guesswork out of it because with hydro/aero, you have no room for errors!

CO2 Booster is not a liquid carbon dioxide per se. It is an organic carbon source that is absorbed by plant tissue. It is not a fertilizer and contains no traditional fertilizesr like iron, copper, calcium, etc. The organic carbon compound is absorbed and enters the photosynthetic process similar to inorganic carbon dioxide. There are a few of these photosynthetic intermediates under testing today.

Anecdotal reports of increased "land" plant growth are increasing. Although the product is not marketed for and has not been tested with many popular foliage plants..the results of boosted plant metabolism are not surprising.

It is indeed a form of organic carbon. If I was gonna use it I would mix it in a spray bottle with some water and mist the leaves (unless it is flowering).

I know I'm late but better late then never. Anyways I use a liquid Co2 product called "better then Co2 liquid carbon" made by overgrow nutrients. Spendy stuff but my plants love it. I've never used gas co2 so I have nothing to compare it to, nor do I have pics. :( but it says its 80% more bio available then gas. Heres a pic of the bottle.

I was thinking of putting some of it in a bucket with my mini humidifier. Lol, ain't it a cute lil thing. Haha. Only 6 bucks so what the heck. It works. But i was also thinking of trying carbonated water with this humidifier. Shoot maybe even the liquid co2 with the carbonated h2o. I gotta get a co2 measurer (Bad spelling, i know) and see if there actually is a boost or not. To measure co2, the kit is only 15-20 bucks.

Bro. The shit is my little secret. You did the test, you seen the results yourself, trust your own judgment as did I and look at this
