yah, scrog is what you're looking for imo as it doesn't remove any leaves, no trimming, etc..

scrog stands for screen of green, and it's pretty much just putting a small screen a few inches above the canopy of the plants, and when they start to grow, you simply weave the growing tips in and out of the screen..
this will keep them short obviously as all vertical growth gets redirected into horizontal growth by weaving in and out of the screen.. people pull some big yields in small spaces using scrog..

check out a few videos on youtube to get a better idea.. you could also do some lst, low stress training, which is basically bondage for plants in order to keep them short.. :D

4' is a decent height. you may be able to get away with just topping once. You should usually top once anyway to keep a clone of each plant from seed in case it turns out to be the bomb-ass pheno, or even just to practice cloning. I would suggest let plants grow to about 8-9 nodes, top at 5th, then flip 12/12 about 4-5 days after topping. That should keep them pretty stout.

Hey guys thx 4 the help but like I said less work, less stress.I've seen a few grows even a scrog, which I got the sensibility to start growing for myself.U have to string a grid and then "LST" your girl thru it.By the way I recommend using christmas bow ribbon its super easy to work with and easy on "flowers".Like I said I'm a new grower not a novice. My first plant was bagseed, I topped, got 4 descent colas, total dry weight was a little less than 4oz. ok.My second baby I left alone and got a 3oz. top cola(dried n cured) tdw. was 6oz.nice.Now I'm not sure about total dry weights for single plants 4ft tall but I was ecstatic,is that normal can I expect more or less TDWs in the future.oh! yeah my original question. How soon can I start to flower? I'm trying to grow 4 plants in my 2.5x2.5.please post back I like to read about personal experience's with growing

some people start growing 12 / 12 from seeds.. but this doesn't mean that the plant will start to flower right on day 2 of 12 / 12 like say a plant that was vegged for a month than switched to flowering..

i tend to think 12 / 12 is a waste of time for this fact... the plant is still going to have to grow for a certain amount of time and reach a point of maturity before it will even think of flowering, whether grown from 12 / 12 or 24 / 0, so imo, you may as well give it some more light hours to let it grow bigger and better while it's still young and before you flower it..

personally, i like to wait till my plants show preflowers and alternating nodes before i switch to flower.. this tells me that they're mature and ready to be flowered.. :D

Go to Attitude and use the "Advanced Search" option. Check the "Short" box. You'd be surprised how many short strains there are out there.
