Lime Green Plants Gone Purple - Why??

Northern California, outdoor grow from clones of unknown origin. They were always a weird bright lime green color, but in the last week went all purple on me. Only 2 of the 6 plants have done this, the other 4 were and still are a deep beautiful green.

Any clue what's going on here?

Thanks in advance for sage advice. I'm a newbie.

dawnish-
Central Cali Foothill grower here and i'm getting the same thing.......it's the weather. After a few nights in the 40's some plant strains will turn purple. A reaction to the cold.
It may be genitics too, but I'm guessing the cold has something to do with it. No need to worry, many growers desire this to happen to their crop. The "Purple Bud" seems to demand a higher price on the market.
Good luck with the grow
Treemansbuds-

okay, not worried...since I don't know the strain I didn't know what to expect. they do look kinda cool, trippy. Wondering if the strains Purple this and Purple that look anything like these?

they look so awesome... i put my plants in the bathroom with an open window (im from Alberta its darn cold here) over night before harvest it makes them look exactly like that... because of this colour it goes 25% more xpensive$ here.. but also if i look at your pics you seem to have a very deep variation f purple all over the leafs and the bud so i would stay on the genetic side of the answer to your question above

peace bro

This year, all my Haze crosses showed a lot of purple.(Also in Cali)

Last year, I grew Granddaddy Purple and never showed a bit of purple, yet the flavor SCREAMED "purple".

Purple is pretty, and sometimes has a nice flavor, but I see no benefit other than in appearance.

My Neville's Haze was just beautiful(pix)

The fact that some were lime green before going purple leads me to believe that there are different variables involved in the media/nutrients. The fact that only two of your clones went purple is kind of the factor that makes me think this. Unless they were from different plants.

Either way they look like they will smoke fine.
