lights... too close or too far?

1 banana kush clone under 2 40 watt cw fluorescents. lights r suspended 39 centimeters (a lil more than one foot.) above it. is this to close or to far from the top.

Can you touch the bulb while it has been lit for a while?

yeah, all day long. also i have it in a 14 oz plastic cup. 2 weeks in to veg. do i need to transplant and if so do u know any threads to help with the transplant

I dont grow with CFL or in soil... But if you can touch that bulb it should be about 2" off the plant or closer.

yep definitely need them closer, keep them as close as you can without burning your plants they need to 2-3 inches is perfect

You can run them extremly close. I have my little girls with in an inch of mt t5's and they love it.

that height is good if you want them to stretch like crazy

well its just one and its under 2 t12 40w fluoro tubes. and again im running them about 38cm. from top. the bulbsare cool white. would it still be safe to be within 2 to 4 inchis from the top?
