Bulb went retard last nigh switching off and on over and over. Can't get a new bulb till tomorrow. Will another dark light cycle be terrible for my plants? I could macgyver some cfls, but don't want to bother if plants don't mind the dark.

It won't kill em, start back on their normal cycle when your new bulb comes in, hope you ordered 2 though(always keep a backup)

Sounds more like a ballast issue than a bulb though, what kind of light?

Don't worry about it, they'll be fine.

600w HPS digital ballast. I hope it's not a ballast issue. looked it up online and the most popular answer was that it's a bulb issue. I've only used the bulb for 3 months.

Bulb goes off. comes on again a minute later. Then after a minute or two instead of intensifying the light goes back out, etc...

Hi, if it is a adjustable digital ballast, make shure that the setting is on the 600w and not the overdrive 660w from adjusting nob..
with the overdrive it does just like that..

Sounds like the bulb is going bad......make sure the bulbs you buy are fine with digital ballasts. Many on the market are not, and they burn out/have problems just like you are.

Ya I think that's exactly my problem, got the cheapest bulb I could find.

Look at the iPower bulbs, available on Amazon and Ebay. They are incredibly cheap and very heavy duty. I only use them for 3 crops before replacing, but for that price, who cares.......

Oh wow thanks, I thought 50$ was cheap, those are 15$ a piece. The 100$ ballasts look as good the 500$ one I got too :(
