A nightmare came true earlier when my 400w HPS light broken, looks like i am going to have to keep them in darkness for 24-48 hours until i can collect a new light.

What affects will this have on the plants going 48 hours without light during there 5th week of flower?
Will i still have a successful harvest? i am going to upgrade and get a 600W instead of 400W in next 24-48 hours will this help them recover better?

Thanks people am very worried about losing the crop bongsmilie

Other than the possibility of a hermie I think you'll be just fine
Thats good new except the hermie bit of course lol
So if one of them hermies will all of them hermie? should i chop them down the minute i see a hermie as i heard this effects the quality of the bud? my buds are very stinky and crystally at the moment so i pray to jah they dont hermie :bigjoint:

put any kind of light in there until you fix
My last grow, we lost power for 3 days...the only thing I could do was make sure the plants were seeing light from a window. I had no problems afterwards...plants turned out sweet and no herms. As long as you let them see some kind of light, they should be fine.

i have only got a 40w lamp here at mo, i take it that would not be sufficient?
The good news is i am getting a light in 12 hours making the total darkness time only 36 hours, should i just leave them in darkness until then or go with the 40W?

no don't leave them in the dark.....keep their regular light cycle..leaving them in darkness could make them herm
