Lights off for vacation?

going on a short trip (about 3 days) tomorrow and we are in the midst of a heat wave. My plan was to dim the lights in my tents and closet as low a possible, water the girls heavy and just leave em be. but now im concerned about heat and just paranoid in general about them so my plan is to unplug everything. I know light leaks are stressful, what about extended darkness?

Im not necessarily concerned about water, i can have them watered one day im gone.

i flower in a closet, the door needs to be opened for lights on and closed at lights off. I run a window AC during the day and i wont be here to turn it off or adjust temps.

Turning everything off for three days is just going to make it hotter in there.

What kind of temps are you expecting?

So you’re not using extraction then?

never mind.

90s in the day. itd be everything but my exhaust getting unplugged. lights off temps are perfect.

I get anxious enough that i have unplugged all my lights and fans to leave the house for more than an hour before, i just like to be here to monitor everything and get to a fire extinguisher if something were to go wrong.

My concern is less the heat and more that ill be gone, Id just feel better with everything off, unless its a major concern for herming all my ladies i guess

i am. But in the closet its a bathroom ceiling style fan hardwired to run 24/7.
with my light on full blast and the door closed, the exhaust fan isnt enough. I added AC to lower temps and it worked.

Im also running tents in my basement. My central air system is down there, its the coolest room in the house.

The concern is 3 lights and 5 fans running for a few days in a mostly empty house, with the part time occupant not knowing much about any of this stuff

Thanks to everyone who replied i appreciate it

I also came to this thread to see what would be the best way to go on vacation. I'm not worried about temperatures because i'll be leaving the AC on, but I'm not sure what to do about water. Might try those things another user posted above.

Biggest problem is by the time I go I'll probably be in the middle of flowering 4 plants and another 3-4 clones that by then will be like 5 weeks old..

edit: just thought of something.. maybe i will try to time it just right so that will be just about the last week of flower and that way if they dry out it won't be a huge deal i can just chop them when i get home

A friend of mine put plugs in the drain holes of his drip trays ( 4ftx2ft) and literally flooded the drip trays to almost over spilling and went on holiday for a week.
I was thinking of doing that. I've got mine on a tray from a dog's crate though so it's not very deep, but I do have a tent I plan to setup before we leave (with the larger tray you're talking about i think, Vivosun tent) and they are in cloth pots so I can't do like a saucer type thing under them (right?)

You've inspired me to give Blumats another go. I was on Sustainable Village carting up parts last night. During my last attempt I used the soaker hoses with rockwool slabs, which didn't really jive. Now I'm back to coco and hand watering. Plus unlike the Mega Crop I was using, Jacks seems have hardly any salt fallout or general gunk that I was worried about clogging up the tiny hoses.

I used water spikes while I was away for 5 days. Worked great tbh.
