Lighting Question 2-600w HPS or 3-400w CMH In Flower

have a 1k HPS, and its doing ok, but its obvious i need 2 lights to effectively cover the area. I want to go with CMH bulbs, but since they are unavailable for 600w ballasts, i was thinking about using 3 400's to be able to utilize the awesome CMH bulbs. Im unsure if the bulbs will be as productive or better than 2 600w HPS.

Im not overly concerned with the power usage, but i really dont want to have 2 1k lights to deal with in summer temps. one runs right where i need it. Im sure i can keep 2 600 HPS under control also far as summer cooling, and the 400 CMH have a reputation of running much cooler than even a 400 HPS.

A point to keep in mind. dimensions are 3x5, i would probly run the 2 600w HPS in air cooled hoods, the 3 400 CMH I would like to run open/vertical hung, probly would have to use some sort of round parabolic reflector setup, might even just make a custom reflector. I think with the increased uv output from the CMH, they might be able to keep up.

I am at a toss up with this choice, and would appreciate some of your opinions on the matter.

1 small change can have huge a huge impact on conditions. I jus swapped out a 175w MH in my vegg, now have a 400mh in there. temps were a lil high. I have to completly rethink my airflow n cooling over it, thats todays project.

I am not a cash cropper, im only concerned with the highest quality i can. high yield is nice, but really, its second after quality.

A 600 mh combined with the 1k would produce damn good results, im a huge fan of dual spectrum hps/mh grows. i ran combo before, but much smaller wattages and the results were awesome.
Im convinced on the spectrum thing, thats why im considering the 400 CMH. I still plan on running a CMH in my vegg area, but the damn bulbs are pricey.
