Lighting question, 10,000 lumens per square foot?

In the FAQ section it says that idealy you should have 7000-10,000 lumens per square foot. I am building a 4'x4' grow room, and I want to use t-5 lights.

If my calculations are correct I will need 32 t-5 lights to achive 10,000 lumens per foot. That does not seem right...

T-5 produces about 5000 lumens.

32 X 5000 = 160000
160000/16 sq. ft. = 10,000 lumens per square foot.

Another example of the FUD regarding lights. HPS is the most efficient of all. The most lumens per watt and therefore the LEAST heat per watt/lumens.

You can try to run cfl's, regular flouro's, t5's, halide, whatever just trying to avoid the heat of a hps but there is no avoiding heat with lights.

Nothing else can create that much light with as little heat as an hps.

Try to trow those lumens with anything other than an HPS and you'll have more heat and way way less bud.
