on my weekly trip to home depot i found some 68w(300w equivalent) 4200 lumens cfls for 14.75 usd.

am i better off to use one of those with a couple 23w(100w equivalent) 1650 lumens cfls for veg and germination?

or should i just go buya bunch of lower watt cfls?

I say you are good w/ 2700K through out the grow! Others say I am wrong and 6500K is needed fer veg and 2700K only fer flower. I know 2700K werks fer me the whole way!

I use 2700k and 6500k in my flowering room. 1 6500k per 2700k. I like to get the full spectrum.

IMO, plants grow alot faster in the veg state with 6500k than 2700k, but they will also grow with 2700k bulbs.

Buying a 4 pack of 23 watts bulbs is prob cheaper than buying 1 65watt bulb. Only thing is, you'll have 4 lights hanging around instead of one. So the choice is yours.

Edit: Well never mind. I thought about it and it may be cheaper to run 1 65 watt bulb. Because running 4 23 watt bulbs you'd have to get 2 plug-socket adapters and 2 Y adapters costing you more than runnin 1 65 watt bulb.

true but if you have enough space for the extra bulbs and all, then you can spread them out a little for more cover or a bigger footprint.

Both of ya are absolutely right! Keep in mind, my 4 packs of 23Wer's were only $2! So, @ 50cents a bulb, I made my set-up!:bigjoint:
