!!lighting cycles?

hi well i have ben growing a clone in my closet for the last month and altough everything has ben going fine a talk with another grower sayd i shud be giving the plant atleast 4 hours of dark time but i read that on 24 hour light it will grow tall never budding but if i do it 20-4 itl start to bud, what i dont want:?::?::fire:

24-0 or 20-4 for Veg, 12-12 for flowering. Doesn't matter, unless you wanna save alittle energy.
