Light wattage in veg and flower

Hi ive done a few grows with my 600 watt lights but was just watching the grow boss and hes saying if you use 4000 watt in veg you will need 8000 in flower and its just confused me because i use 4 x 600 watt both in veg and flower am i doing something wrong or just not understanding what hes trying to say if anyone could help.

don't know the grow boss but it seems like he's saying if you use X watts in veg, you need twice X in bloom.

If i tell you you Need to give me 10 bucks will you do it?

Sure, you can use double flower watts to veg watts. You can also do any ratio thats equal or greater than 1:1 so meh.

Its just trying to convey the point that if you have access to 3000w total, you'd be better off putting 2000w into the flower room and 1000w in the veg room rather than 1500w in each. Im not sure the ratios are supposed to be that specific, its just giving general idea that using more power in flower is the best $olution. I don't see whats so strange or convoluted about that? I would give the same suggestion.

Just like you could do 200 in veg and 2800 flower. Lots of things you can do that work really well. If tge advise the OP read is confusing him an hes getting results, just disregard it imo, so many ways to grow a cat.

I flower under 1000 watts, to me vegging under 500 watts sounds dumb. 100 watts is plenty. Thats 10x. But whatever works. Theres no one way is all im sayin

I doubt the "grow boss" preceded his tip with the disclaimer that it was the only way to grow, but ive never seen it. The "more than one way to skin a cat thing" can be said about almost everything related to growing weed. The OP asked for the statement to be clarified and I gave my best, not wether it was the only way to do it or not. Ok, have a good day!

The word "need" in the op suggested to me the 'grow boss' was actually saying that was the way it needed done. You did clarify it well, i was just under the impression the OP understood but was wondering WHY or IF it really mattered to follow a strict double flower veg watts.

I could be wrong, not sure.
