Hey Noob I'm not sure but I don't think that will fit in a regular socket. Regular sockets are normally referred to as medium sockets. This is a mogul socket to medium socket adapter, you would need a medium socket to mogul socket to hook it up to regular lamp. You should be able to find it at the hardware store. Also, make sure the light fixture your using can handle 85 watts so you don't start a fire.

mogul socket=bigger special socket
medium socket= average household socket
most of the cfl's dont start the mogul until after 100 watts. You picked one that needed the mogul socket at 85. Mogul and meium are the key terms to learn when checking adaptability for bulbs.

But why would u have to check if ur socket can handle it when its only 85 watts unless it uses alot more volt than ok but 85 watts pshhhhh that really aint nuttin

Noob- your fixture handling 85 watts has nothig to do with the actual bulb fitting in the socket, I just mentioned it so you don't burn your house down. In order to use that bulb you will need the medium to mogel adapter.
