Hi all!

I need... Help! Eheh

What would you use for light setup for a 10x10 grow area? I am hesitant between 4 1k hps de or 6 600watts 4 hps and 2 cmh.

I was about to go with leds but so much expensive for now...

I'll also have co2, not using burners.

My AC is 1.5T (18k btu) Ceiling is 8'6"

Thank you for any help! :)

your usable space is 8x8 with one foot on each side to work with, do 4 1ks de and make each one a 4x4 foot print, yield will be heavy but so will electric bill. make sure you get air cooled hps de so that you can say fuck an ac unit

Thanks for your help!

The usable space is really 10x10 :) i have extra space around that to work.

Do you think the 18k btu will be enough with 4 1k hps de?

4K btu/ 1000 watt hid air cooled
6K btu/ 1000 watt hid not air cooled

Doesn’t hurt to give yourself some breathing room by getting a slightly larger system then you need.

24k btu at least for 4 1k de...

Am I better to go with the 6x600w ? What is the needed btu for them?

Thank you :)

if done right you dont need a air conditioner for 4k hps just some good ducting and quality air cooled hoods with 8-1k cfm inline

I'll take a drive to see if he has some pl lighting de vented hood. :)

But yield would be the same using 6x600 or better with 4x 1k? With the 600, adding 2 cmh may help bringing fuller spectrum.

Thank you again :)

In winter, it can go down to -22F and summer +95F (-30 celcius to +35 celcius) but the room is the coolest in the house, situated north and I do have a central A/C unit so max 72-73F (~22C) in summer inside the house.

Nice link for the sdhydroponics... But kinda crazy, i'd need 30k btu if I follow those numbers, kinda overkill for 4x 1k de isn't it? the 5500 btu i need to calculate before adding equipment, ouch!

I’m running 24k btu for two open 1000 watt lights and a dehumidifier in a 8x12 sealed room. I live in a fairly warm environment and this gives me 100% control over temps with 95 degree weather outside if I wanted to run lights during the day.

I can get the 24k btu instead of the 18k for 350$... A no brainer I think :) I guess I should be ok with 24k.

It will be my first grow so.. I prefer to have control on my temperature :)

You are using co2? Burner or tank?

I have two 20lb tanks, might opt for a 3rd in the near future just to have another extra on hand. Winter you would have no problem running an intake/exhaust set up with no AC imo, summer it would depend on the night time temps but you may still need AC on hot nights. I run a sealed room so I have no intake or exhaust.

if he goes with sealed hoods, and intakes and exhaust them in one line. then in the grow room also has a intake and exhaust there is ABSOLUTELY no need for an ac. im running 6k hps and 8 inch inline with high yield big daddy 8 inch sealed hoods. and in the room a carbon scrubber and then an 8 inch inline cooling the room and providing FAE

No Co2 right? Your exhausts must be running continuously. Nice setup :)
no c02 correct. exhaust runs typically 1-2 minutes on and 1-2 mins off but if outside temps are above 65f when lights are on it will run continuously. when lights go off it runs maybe 1 minute on and 30-60 minutes off... I will probably introduce a heater soon to kick on when lights are off so RH doesnt buildup.
