light schedule question. URGENT.

this queiry pertains to me switching light schedules from veg to flower. I was smoking too much the other day and i realised i turned my timer from an 18/6 time to a 12/12. TALK ABOUT STRESS.

I have some plants that havnt shown any type of changes. but 2 of my plants are showing sings of possible hermy..

will 2 days of a light change (12/12) without a "dark" period between them make hermy signs show up this quickly?

i will take a pic and add it to the thread to help verify.

Im not sure i follow.how long were they in veg.a 12-12 should have a 12hr dark period.if they were mature enough to flower then it shouldn't matter unless things weren't light tight.if it was then some other stress probably or just genetic is my guess

Three months? so you meant to flip to flower?if not why they should be a beast of a plant w 3 month veg.pics would help

first of all. my bad typo. it was supposed to say "2 months of veg".
damn. pics will have to wait until tomorrow. lights are out. i have 4 plants. one was left in a small pot for a while so its slightly smaller. but the others were in 5 gal. buckets until about a week ago i transfered all of hem into 7gal. airpots.
they have been under a 900W LED grow light.
I have been topping and some other manipulation methods.
they are in a appollo horiculture tent. 4ftx4ftx6.

Ok that all sounds good but 2 months is good imo they should be flipped or your going to run out of room in tent they will double in size when you do flip.hermies could be genetic or fem seed or stress etc. I dont see why just flipping into a flowering photoperiod would cause it alone especially in 2 days but maybe im wrong

ok its possible its genetic. 3 of my plants are "bag" seeds. from a HUGE bag of seeds. so thats anyones guess.
1 of them is a "mystery" seed. idk were i got it or where it came from so idk.
the last. my "favorite" one. is a seed from a batch of herb called bay red. i spoke wth the distributer and its supposed to be from a reputable strain.

so sounds like my plan will be to stick with the light schedule i have now and see how things pan out. if they Hermied. ill cut down and take the "cut". if not ill continue to give flowering type of care.

thank you for you help in this matter. once pics are taken tomorrow ill be able to have a more definitive answer.

just would not happen in 2 days makes no sense let them run on a 12 12 cycle for another week then have a look you will be in a better position to tell then. 2 days is too early and it sounds like you are being a bit skittish about it so give em longer and defo go 12 12 now as 8 week is a good and long vedge, you should all going well get a bumper crop...good luck and post some pics...are the seeds fem or reg?

if there regular seeds and not fem then they might just be showing male and not female...if that is the case dont be a cheap skate and buy some fem seeds in future!!!! especially if you vedge for 8 weeks thats a long investment for nothing!!!

eugene b.

I understand that seems like a huge investment. but where i live if i dont invest in grow time. i will not learn. so as of right now the investment is in the knowledge. so im ok with that. but yes. i will def. consider some fem seeds in the near future.

i understand early days in growing its all good experience fem seeds will give you the satisfaction of getting the whole cycle done and some nice smoke at the end you could let the males mature and harvest the pollen and pop it in your fridge for use with breeding at a later date especially if the plant is of good stock...hope they turn out female though an 8 week vedge will guarantee an excellent harvest good luck mate...
