Light Question

I have 2 flowering tents, each has a 600 watt HPS. I'm thinking about upgrading one of them to a 1000 watt. If I did this would you think more light would be better for the first 4-5 weeks of a flowering plant, or the last 4-5 weeks. I plan to rotate the plants between the tents and am not sure if I would benifit more by starting or finishing the flowering plants under the 1000 watt.

Thanks for you comments!

i have a dim able 600 wtt to 1000 wtt and i start with the 600 setting then up it during flower to the 1000wtt.

I think you would be better off not rotating them. A 400w change in light intensity might shock the plants and do more harm than good.

Is the 600w not enough? What is your grow area? Getting a higher wattage light isnt always "upgrading".

they still stretch for the first couple weeks of flower so wouldn't you want more intense light in the later stages of flowering?

I would think the total opposite. More intense light at the start will prevent major stretching! Lower light at the end also reflects nature closer.
